Jared's GEP Posting

So we got our 1st choice Catholic High..this is where Jared going to spend his upper primary for the next 3 yrs.  I had chosen a humble school rather than Nanyang which it maybe much more competitive there with 4 class of GEP...hopefully it will be the right choice..

GEP is a serious decision..they even got the child to sign on it..it's the 1st ever signature from Jared officially for something..

Jared's 9 yr old Birthday Celebration

His mood wasn't very good, as I accidently scalded his finger with hot brinjal..so hot that he cried on the spot!   So he refused to smile in most of the pics..N he was 30kg on his birthday..that explained why the bak bak face..hah

A funny event a day after Jared's birthday 20-Nov-2014

Kaylen did not buy a birthday present for Jared this year, so on the night before we go out for Jared’s birthday dinner, she went to her drawer and asked koko to choose anything that he like.

So koko had eye on the lock particularly on a notebook, to put with his drawer key. He like it that he can lock and unlock the thing..

on 20-NOV night…
While Jared was embracing on the little lock that Kaylen gave him as his 9th birthday present:
Suddenly Kaylen pop out these

Kaylen: I don’t even want jelly as birthday present, after eat, no more
Me: Hey, koko is even more poor thing, at least daddy mummy gave you a bolster to hug everyday, we only gave koko an air ticket to go back Sarikei, after he sat on it no more.
Jared: hey, it's a $200 worth birthday present ok.
Kaylen: I got bolster because he took your bolster

Then Kaylen cry so hard, pitying herself no having 6yr old bday present that last ..

Jared's Development @9yr old

Jared turned 9 .although I like to emphasize to him that he’s like a 10 yr old to me. So a 10yr old should not be naked in the living room, trying to get change..but he still does that. He is still very much in love with his choot choot, and need to hv a dose almost every weekday afternoon. *GOSH*

 Social skill
He has overcome his social problem of being a loner in P1&P2, now grown to having quite a no. of friends to play za4 or the finger games with him. He had also promoted him self to be the za4 master and to have enough time to play, his lunch boxes need to be in bite size, so that he can eat them while playing.
Since he had decided he is going for GEP school, I asked him if he is going to miss anybody. He said Tong Cheng. But Eaton will miss him most, to the extend that he asked Jared to write to him on June/Dec holiday.. that’s a great achievement on social skill!

 Academic
Academically he is the bright student in front of teachers, Mrs Tang his P3 english teacher has mentioned that his English command is excellent. I had been spending a lot of times, almost everyday to work on his Chinese Compo, memorizing good sentence, Chinese oral. Luckily this the only subject I need to drill him on so far. Occasionally he will get to do some math & science paper/assessment book. Chinese Paper2 is always left till 3-4wks before exam.

 Weight
29.5kg most time, this had to be the year he had the most weight increase. About 4kg! He is seriously running out of pants to wear.

 Violin
Working on his grade5 songs, and the dreadful violin lesson for the past years, is now a relaxing time to get away from me..hah

 Tooth
3 tooth has drop, 2 permanent tooth, in upper front row. Finally, 1 wobbly tooth on the bottom row

 Birthday wish
This is quite weird, he actually asked not to go for staycation like what Kaylen had at Legoland hotel & waterpark. He asked for a peaceful time, with delicacy for dinner.

2014 P3 Prize Giving Ceremony

Today marked the end of Primary 3 and Jared's official last day in PCPS. He had been talking about saying bye bye to all his friends excitedly.  I guessed I definitely felt more sad than him.  We are gonna leave our comfort zone, where top 3 had been a norm for these 3 yrs.

I had been telling him, after he joined the GE program, his marks will drop from 90-100 to 50-60, and all I want him is to prevent being the bottom 3.

But he insisted that he wanted to try the program, so we will certainly support him all the way..I salute his courage and certainly hope it will lead him to a new high since  he had always said he knew all the stuff in the mainstream as I already taught him.

Jia you baby!

The 2014 invitation worth waiting for...

PCPS P3-P5 Prize Giving Day 2014

Such a heavy event to attend, it might just be Jared's last school day in PCPS, and its the last time we get invited..

Nevertheless I'm really proud of the hard work from him!

The road ahead (GEP) will be much tougher..and we will certainly overcome it with our hardwork!
