Happy Birthday to Daddy!

Today is Daddy's big 32nd Birthday! We had a small celebration at home last night, 3 of us.. DIY everything including the CAKE!?!, pasta, and lamb chop.. I was the one who suggested maybe we should bake a cake..but in actual case, Daddy bake the cake..for himself! hehe.. I'm not good in handling mixer + the complicated microwave for its oven function.

Daddy has been really helpful and loving since Jared was borned. He did all the bathing of Jared during weekend, and clean Jared's butt when he poo and wake up for all the night feeds ever since I stop breast feed..No complains even though there was a period of time Jared could wake up 3x in the night for feed.

Today we just wanna tell you, We Love You So Much, Thank you Daddy!

Birthday Video

I Hate Hair Cut!

Jared's hair was way too long, the fringe going to stab into his eyes soon..From the hair cut experience just before CNY, we promised ourself never step into a salon unless its necessary!..That time I proudly promise the hair dresser from Junior League that Jared won't cry..In the end, he almost tear the shop down..hehe. This round, I got myself more prepared..tell the hair dresser first thing..He would cry when you start shaving..so everyone are ready for the grouchy Jared..and yes, he did make noise!..

Had a change of hairstyle for Jared. Nice? hehe..Been wanting to try the mushroom hairstyle leh..But daddy always say his hair too thin to look nice in it..I find it turn out not bad..although occasionally look sha2 sha3 de4 (stupid? blur?) Jared could say these words too. hehe.

p/s: Jared tends to address Daddy as "papa" most of time, Strange we hardly use Papa but he still managed to learn it somewhere.

2) Like to walk in circle, sideways, reverse...like dancing..Whenever I see him doing that, I'll offer him a dance of cha cha..of cos I dunno how to dance..but anyhow also he happy hehe..

If asked Do you feel cold? Jared's reply is always..."cold cold"...so we don't know if he's cold in the end..heheh...

4) Loved to sit at drivers seat in the car and play with the stearing ever since he successfully climb over once. and so now, its always a painful experience in the car nowadays..cos he could never sit still anymore in the car seat..Find everyone chance to get over to driver's seat.

5) Finally, could sit still on stroller again!!...Since newborn he never like to sit in the stroller,like to push it instead...make us wonder if its the brand of the stroller that's not comfortable? After the long wait, finally he realised its so comfortable sitting in stroller while waiting for us to push him...Think we have not used the stroller for at least 6 mth before this.

7) 1 nap in the day only, usually its around 12pm after lunch. But when we go mygym, he will sleep right after the class..too exhausting..hehe..

Day 6 Kings Park and Home Sweet Home 21 Apr 07

Have read a lot of reviews Kings Park is big and beautiful and is a must for visitors coming to Perth. So we included a picnic itnery at this park. Jared have fun walking in the greens...but it was pretty hot under the sun.





Took the 3pm flight home..arrrrhhh..trip was too short..and we started talking about when to visit Perth again!

With Jared along, even though it meant more work and less time to rest & relax for us, but the joy he brought us ...was more than everything. He showed his appreciation to the natures with lotsa of wows and 美..which is more rewarding than anything else.

Day 5 Caversham Wildlife Park + Fremantle 20 Apr 07

We drived north to Swan Valley to visit the Wildlife Park, about half an hour's drive.

Its much much bigger than Sunflower Animal farm we visited at Margaret River..and look more like a zoo. I loved the hand feed kangaroo area in the park..So many big and small kangaroo around. We also saw the wombat, both daddy and me manage to try carry it..a 28kg 8yr old wombat. Jared woke up from his nap when we were there..He thought its a soft toy..keep shouting wa wa...hehe..Daddy also had a try on camel ride..and lastly we saw the koala..was allowed to stroke its back only.


See Jared got kissed by the kangaroo.. In fact the kangaroo also kissed his lips..hehe. The kangaroos are bigger and taller than Jared!



After that we drived south to Fremantle...to taste their famous fish and chip. The Fremantle and E-shed market were pretty dissapointing.

Day 4 Cowarumup and Donnybrooks Fruit Orchard 19 Apr 07

The day started with an half an hour drive north to Cowarumup town for the famous Margaret River Chocolate Factory and Cape Lavender. Reached too early at the MR Choc Factory, so we went to visit the Cape Lavender first. Think its not the lavender season, not a lot of lavender around. But check out best pic of Jared taken there. Its the nicest pic throughout the trip.

MR Chocolate Factory got this free flow of chocolate chips, which Jared get to choose from milk/choc milk/dark choc. Jared's fav is the choc milk. Managed to try their chocolate drink, which they boast to be the best in the world which I thought so so nia wuh.
Then we visited the Candy cow-candy shop and MR Dairy Company..which were on the way..before the long drive back to Perth.

We took an alternate path back to Perth so that we could stop by at Donnybrook's Old Goldfield Fruit Orchard. Even though it make the journey back to Perth almost longer by 2x...its worth the trip.

We saw red ripen apples..lotsa of them on the trees..So excited..and Jared busy munching the apple, and me? busy trying and picking the apples loh. We also saw some plums (daddy's fav) and pear. Had a hard time searching for edible plum, its end of season, so most of them almost rotten..but it's daddy's fav fruit..so I took some time to look around and managed to find a few. Very sweet plum. The apples are a bit sour though.

Day 3 - Around Margaret River 18 Apr 07

We started the day off with driving south approx 30mins to Augusta to visit the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Weather was very cold with the strong wind. Layered Jared with 3 piece of clothing..hehe..

The views are awesome. Its the point where 2 ocean meets..The Indian and the Southern ocean.

After that, we visited the Sunflowers Animal Farm. This place is like Baby Einstein-Macdonald A day at the Farm DVD comes to live! It's a farm full with cows, guinea pig, rabbit, goat, pigs..and we saw hay, tractors too. Jared had a chance to hand feed the animals.

Then we proceed on to the largest Vineyard in Margaret River to have lunch, that's the Voyager Estate Vineyard. The vineyard has got a beautiful garden..Jared loves the garden a lot...We ordered fish of the day, salmon as main course, and cheese as side dish..of cos their wine too.

We went for a walk in the park after lunch, Jared even offered to whole both our hands and walk together...Guess he was in high spirit!...He simply loves the green..

After a hearty lunch at Voyager Estate, we visited the Leeuwin Estate which was just nearby..again, beautiful surroundings..and we managed to have dessert there.

Then of we go with more visiting, the Mammoth's Cave. This cave is not impressive at all..and not special too. Jared fell asleep when we reached there, only managed to wake up when we almost completed the walk.

We ended the day with a visit to the famous Preverly beach and coles for some grocery shopping.

Day 2 Drive South to Busselton + Margaret River 17 Apr 07

Couldn't sleep the whole night cos was busy checking out the porridge..plus 3 of us squeeze in the queen size bed really cramp..Jared kept sticking to me the whole night.

We left early in the morning taking the free CAT bus to Adelaide Tce Bayswater car rental to collect our car rental. It's a 1.8L Toyota Corrola Auto car..come with cheapest rate in town.

After that we started the journey driving down south. Strange all the webs/books said its a leisure drive of 3.5hr to Margaret River..But it seemed so far for us..We only managed to reach Busselton Jetty around 1pm..w/o stopping in between. In fact Jared had to take his porridge in the car to save time.. But it didn't create any messiness, Jared opened his mouth big big for every mouthful, probaly due to hunger he suffered the day before..hehe

But the driving distance is well worth. Busseltown Jetty is so beautiful..The Simmo's ice cream was so yummy. Jared has lots of fun walking in the greens, walking thru part of the 2km jetty..and he loved the ice cream too.

Spent 2 hr there, by the time we completes the walk, it was already 3pm+..Missed Yallingup Shearing Shed which was originally planned. But daddy brought us to a rocky beach instead ..The views were so beautiful.

Day 1 - Perth City + Northbridge 16 Apr 07

We went for a walk at Perth city + Northbridge after checked into hotel. Since it's a monday, most of shops closed by 5pm..so there's nothing much in the city. Night life is supposed to be in Northbridge, but we were rushing to get back to Perth city to buy some grocery for Jared's porridge for next day use. So didn't have chance to have any proper dinner there.

I must mentioned this...For Day 1, I didn't have time to prepare Jared's dinner, so he had to take instant porridge or can food. He is used to have good food, so naturally he couldn't take in any can food..and the pigeon instant porridge, so ex yet could only provide 1/10 amount he usually take. At the end of the day, he cried and refused to take in any more food.

We got so heart pain and start to think if it's more of a torture to for Jared rather than enjoying a holiday?

We're going for a holiday - Perth, Australia!!! 16 Apr - 21 Apr 07

Hey, Perth..We're coming..
Taking the 9am flight, both KP and me wake up as early as 5am to get ready..We left for airport at ~6.30am. Jared was in good mood that morning, can't stop babbling while we are getting ready..hehe.

Thankfully it was only a 5hr flight..Jared only had a nap in the bassinet for as short as 30mins, just enough time for us to have lunch. The rest of time he is either walking around or disturbing the passenger at the back row..playing peekaboo with them or playing with the toy from the ang moh kid sitting next to us.

We reached Perth airport about 2pm, after clearing the custom & collecting the luggage it was around 3pm + already. The moment I stepped out from the airport, I felt like giving my good friend Arther a kick! It's not cold at all, probaly like Genting..Luckily I was smart enough not to bring the winter jacket I wore during honeymoon, although I would be happy to be able wear it again (so ex, yet wear only once)

Jared was tired out and slept thru the bus journey to Aaron's Hotel. This is real bad hotel, room is so small that we have problem open up our luggage.

My Gym- 2nd lesson

This term's theme...thumbling..it's hard to drag Jared out of ball pool to join the activities man!

As parents, I thought My gym doesn't really offer a lot of things to learn...(my definitition of learning could be wrong though, ie flashcard, ABC, counting..well, kiasu mummy..hehe)... But for the kid, I think it's really the happiest 1hr.

Picnic with Monkey

We finally made a trip to Upper Pierce Reservoir for picnic. (errr..Finally I'm able to confirm that this is the park with Monkey).

Of cos I do not have time to prepare for any food..Just tah pah some chwee kueh and bee hoon from Chong Pang market and together with our picnic mat...Voila..We're going to picnic!! hehe..

Just when we managed to find a place with shade and laid our food..a monkey came to join us!..It walked around our shelter..waiting for us to give him food. Our dear Jared, gets so excited cos he thought its a 猫 haha. When we finished the food, ready to pack up, another monkey came...So kam cheong! Almost had to abandon ship and run for life..hehe..

It's fun overall..hope the next time I would hv time to prepare food for the picnic.

Easter

We don't celebrate Easter, but this year Jared received a cute set of Easter egg, rabbit and carrot from Cousin Kiau. Grandma brought them back from Oz. See how Jared play with the chocs. He smack the egg so hard on the floor till out of shape.

Another exciting milestone met!

Jared could say his own name "Jared" when asked since 8 Apr, Sunday. But when both daddy and me tried to ask, he always refused..Today I asked many times..still refused, till I brought him to his fav toy..the PC at home..then he would say his name when showed him the pics on this blog..hehe.

So happy.

My Gym

Just enrolled Jared with my gym, and went to the 1st Class Yesterday 7 Apr.

Had been so lazy to send Jared for any class..mainly cos KP and me had only 1 common off day in the past. So every Saturday is very precious..I didnt want to be tied down by any course.
Since this mth onwards, I managed to change to Sunday shift like KP...it would be too boring to go out on both days yeah?..So off Jared go with some enrichment course..We had a trial when he was 10mth old...Daddy concluded that he's not suitable yet and cannot follow instruction, that's also part of the reason or excuse?? hehe..

This round, Jared followed better with teacher's instruction (in the beginning at least)...but once he found the area with lots of balls...He can never follow the teacher anymore..always point to the ball..and say go go...asked daddy to bring him there..

Jared call me "Mama"

A day to remember..Jared call me "mama" early in the morning @6.30am when he wake up from his mattress on the floor and climb on to our bed..

Unfortunately I ignored him, cos I thought its 3am..hehe..
