Botanical Garden

Thanks to boss who's so nice to let me go off at 3pm on last working day of 2006 (29Dec06). That's why we could make it to visit the long waited Botanical Garden. I couldn't recall when was the last time I visit..probaly at least 20yrs ago. The Botanical garden is now so nice and good to have a walk.

Our Monster

During the weekend over Christmas, Jared was like a monster at home.

On sat 24Dec morning, he pee on our blanket. Well, waipo always say he is a genious..he will get down the bed by himself if he needs to pee/poo. So that morning after removing the heavy overnight diaper, I left him bare while playing on my bed. Plan to get him bath soon before change to a new diaper. To my surprise after a while he started peeing...on my blanket!!!! So angry!..After that in the late morning daddy being recalled back for work, so I was left alone to feed him lunch...Another nightmare, he was walking around the house for me to feed him and occasionally split out the food, overturn my plates and messed up every where with his kisses on the wall.

Later after the Christmas party, while we get ready for swimming, Jared poo. So I got daddy to change for him. But daddy didn't manage to control his movement, so in the end he was crawling around our bed with his poo!!..I asked daddy to cool down and continue with the plan to swim..... So we change the bedsheet at night...haha

After the bad experience, I sent Jared back to wai po's place the next day. I continued to take my morning nap at Sembawang, only go back to see him after lunch with daddy.

Again on Monday 25dec, he's a monster again! Refused to take his morning nap..and keep walking around the house. I finally made him sleep at 11am(normal 9am) with a bit of milk. Sigh.
Last year xmas, Jared was such an angel baby only sleep&eat. In fact, we managed to join xmas party at Grace's place even though he was a meer 5 week bb. This year he can make our house turn around! Gosshhh.......

Walking/Christmas Party/Super friendly Jared

Walking Since last fri 22Dec , Jared is able to walk more and without needing us to be there to encourage him. He will walk from 1 place to another if he felt distance is short & standing position is more convenient. Ocassionally he will surprise me in the kitchen when he walk over from dinning table area to grab my legs.

Christmas Party We went to a christmas party at Kee Kee's place on 23 Dec. The place was crowded with so many kids, more like a kids party..I think there were at least 9 kids including Jared. Jared was overwhelmed by so many ppl there, and started behaved extremely well, sit quietly...then at half way of party he started walking around, turning the knobs of DVD player(what he does everyday at home)..and finally at the end of party..he fight with other kids for toys!!..

Super friendly Jared Since last Fri also, Jared started to smile with sound somemore (sounds like ~gheeee) to any strangers inside the lift. If the other party response, I won't feel so bad...sometimes the other party simply ignore him..left me and KP feeling embarrasing hehehe..If the person smile back, Jared would start stretching out his hand and do a hi-5 to that person...Super friendly huh? hehe.

We went to Tanglin Mall again last night to take some photos with the bubbles snow...This was the 2nd time we went there, since the first time we didnt manage to take any pics.

Jared is 13mth old!

Jared's progress for pass 1 mth:

1) Loves daddy more than mummy
Jared realised that being carried by daddy for sure wouldn't dissapoint him, Definitely get to go kai kai since daddy is usually the one who drives. So whenever daddy is around, he wants to be carried by daddy and refused to let go.

2) Initiate hi 5 or hi 10!
Jared would initiate hi 5 from very far when he spotted us or anyone he knows including the indian neighbour at Waipo's place..This act makes the indian neighbour fly to cloud, cos it seemed to her that Jared likes her hehe... Sometimes he will be so excited that he would stand up and do hi-10 on his tricycle, waipo usually push Jared around in the tricycle at void deck while waiting for us to come home.

3) Walk more steps unsupported
Jared could walk around 5-10 steps already.. but only when we encouraged him.

4) Split out dislike food
We used to press Jared's forehead to make his mouth open to get some porridge in. But these does not work anymore, he learnt to split out the food. He will use his teeth to sweep out all the food.


5) A good kisser
When I make my lips "tu tu"..Jared will lean over to kiss me (or bite me??) on my lips hehe.

Next mth we are going to bring Jared back to daddy's hometown to attend daddy's cousin wedding. Its a long and challenging journey. First we got to take car to JB Senai airport, take 1.5hr flight to Sibu. To attend the wedding, we need to take 3hr of speedboat from Sibu...To go back to daddy's hometown at Sarikei...we need to take 2hr car ride from Sibu...Think already, make me headache hehe..

No cry..

Today we brought Jared to Dr. Ong's clinic for his final pneumoccocal jab. Jared did not cry at all!!..My baby has grown up..no longer cry for jab..I'm so proud and happy hehe..

Jared is 9.5kg @ 13mth old. Quite skinny..

We went Marina Square after that. Cos Jared usually grouchy after jab, a bit bit will cry..so we try to avoid staying home ..hehe.

East Coast Trip (Again?!?!)

We went to East Coast for cycling again! This round was the most enjoyable one as the weather is good and the breeze are cooling. Jared had lots of fun, he would burst into laughter everytime when he managed to tap off daddy's hand from the bicycle handle. We managed to cover furthest this time, both side of East Coast Beach including Bedok Jetty.

Jared's Lunar 1 Year Old Birthday

18th of tenth mth in chinese calendar is Jared's lunar birthday. We had a mini celebration with
just the 3 of us at void deck garden @ our Sembawang home.

Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary & My Birthday Celebration

Had a wonderful birthday&wedding anniversary celebration, thanks to daddy's planning. We took half day off from work and spent a good time at Vanilla Pod Restaurant. This is quite an isolated place and hardly got ppl knew of it. Unfortunately its near to our work place, guess whom we saw in the restaurant? There were only 2 tables occupied when we reached there, 1 table is fr Kee Ping's company another 1 is from my company...aiyo ..hehe.But good thing is they left early, so we managed to enjoy the rest of time there. It was the first time I ever tried escargot, I thought it tasted grassy ??....Wondering if they pick up the escargot from the orchid garden..hehehe. After lunch, we had a short walk around the Orchid Garden, but it rains so no choice but have to leave early.


After that we went to collect cake and went home for a rest before heading for the next celebration with family + Jared. The dinner was at Din Tai Fung, Paragon...we were so lucky that we got a room for ourselves..else I might not have any courage to lite up the 2 big candles + 9 small candles hehe. Jared tried most adult food last nite. He had fried rice, bday cake, and sponge cake fr restaurant. He seems to like the fried rice a lot..hehe..

Still sick........

Jared is still sick..longest ever period that he ever fall sick!. In fact he hardly fall sick, the bad one which I could remember was at exactly 6mth old.

After recovered from the stomach flu, vomit&lau sai, during mid week he had fever occasionally...Then finally today cough!..When can all these sick bug leave him alone??

Wish sick bug come and look for me instead..then i could get MC and dun need to work..hehe..But when kena Jared, not only I cannot go to work, most of time pocket will kena hole..and also had sleepless nite...*sigh*

Anyway, tomorrow is my Birthday! My 29th birthday..

Here's my birthday wish:
1) Hope I'll be able to lose the extra fats I gained after I had Jared..hehehe...
2) Hope Jared, daddy & mummy will be healthy & happy!!!

Almost forgot, it's also our 2nd Wedding anniversary !

Sick

Jared was down with stomach flu since saturday 26 Nov, vomit everytime when we feed milk. After that it was me who got the virus on Sunday, vomitted whole night again..On Monday, it was daddy's turn. So today Tues, both daddy & mummy stayed at home with Jared..cos all of us fall sicked. Vomit, giddy & diarroe..arghh..so scary!.

Jared lost a lot of weight..in fact he is now only 9.17kg, lighter than when he was at 9mth old..hope we all will hv quick recovery..and the virus stop spreading to the other members of the family!

Jared make his first few steps today 28 Nov 2006, 12mth 1 wk old. We're so excited over the new milestone Jared achieved!

Jared 's progress for the past 1 mth:

1) Climb up/down our bed
2) Understand what's nose, ear, leg...When asked where's your ear, he will pull his ear, nose (make sneezing action), and leg (tap tap on his leg).
3) Climb all the way from sofa to the window grills.
4) Drink from cup
5) the 6th teeth has cut through, 7th is on the way... Both are on top rows.
6) Bite anyone that he sees haha...He don't bite teether, prefer human...more texture I guess..heheh.
7) Idolize Sun Yan Zi ..never turn his eyes away from SunYZ tv ad. hehe
8) Kill ants...Jared's eyes and finger coordination are good huh? hehe..Daddy hopes he will progress to kill cockroach & lizard soon *Yucks* Cos these 2 are daddy's biggest enemy! hehe.
9) Cry when sending off daddy & mummy to work, not due to separation anxiety though, he just wanna go out!
10) Say "mum mum" when hungry

We've always wanted to try to take the pics of the 3kiddos together. Both Lisa & Sandy are my secondary school classmates from JB..and its so fortunate that we managed to keep in touch till now. Alfred is 4mth+, Rae is 11mth+ and Jared is 1YO.

The Big 1!!!

Jared turns 1 today and we had a party at home to celebrate this special day. What a tiring day... but a memorable one too, with relatives and friends coming to give their blessings.

Gymboree @ Vivo City

Went for another trial class gymboree..Overall was quite fun, but Jared turns grouchy towards the end of the class. A good work out for the day...

Hooked on new Escrapping software

We just downloaded Scrapbook Flair from download.com as our previous Microsoft Digital Imaging have expired. This is a suprisingly easy software to use with built in library of e-papers, buttons, graphics etc. Daddy got hooked on the software and created another artwork..Here it is..hehe

Me & My Little Corner

This week Jared developed a special habit. He loves to squeeze into little gaps that he could find. Today, with a little help from Daddy and Mommy, Jared finally found his Little Corner… right next to the sofa…What he does there? He pees, shout and have lotsa fun

p/s Today is a special day cos last yr this day my water bag started leaking, I was so worried if Jared could be born healthy. Thank God, he is such an adorable boy! Counting down to the day Jared turns 1!

Mygym Trial Class & Uncle Wei Ming's birthday party

Finally managed to arrange a trial class for Jared @ MyGym at Civic Center. It was an impromptu decision since we passed by there for the bank. Jared had lots of fun attending the class, the "toys" there are quite interesting. Of all Jared like most is when the teacher hang a jumping rope on the ceiling and let him learn to walk while holding to the rope. Hate most when teacher tried to flip him over, even cried out loud.

On Sunday we went to chalet @ Downtown East, Pasir Ris for Uncle Wei Ming's birthday. We had bbq dinner, Jared was like on holiday mood again, just like the time when we were at Genting. Sleep very little for the whole day yet don't get cranky and smile to everyone who approached him. hehe.

Long Weekend

Even though we didn't have special plan for the long weekend, it was still quite enjoyable. Well, we just been to zoo, bird park, east coast for the past few weeks..Its really a big headache what's next to visit.

So we decided to bring Jared for a swim. It has been a long time since the last swim, we were avoiding the 2 Lunar 7th mth and busy with preparations for the US trip and finally during this long weekend, we actually brought Jared to swim twice!! On sat and Tues. Daddy took leave to spend the whole day with us on Tue, Hari Raya.

On sat, Jared seems real tense in the water, no smile, no movement. But yesterday it was so much different. He started to enjoy the water, kick around, float and if we placed him sitting at the edge of the pool, he would jump down... first time we see him smile in the swimming pool ...enjoyed it so much that he actually zonk out even in the car. Oh yeah, finally I've managed to make the porridge which Jared likes a lot. Just simple one, add egg yolk to the porridge just before serve, then it will taste yummy..hehe..Jared loved it so much that after every mouth, he will make the "hmmm" sound heheh. Make me so happy. At least I don't need to chase him around and can sit there wait for Jared to come towards me in his walker when the next spoonful is ready! *So proud of myself* hehehe.

Jared is 11mth old!!!

At 11mth Jared could:
1) Use us as support to pull him self from sitting position to stand up position, and trying to be gung ho everytime by letting go of both hands!
He could stand unsupported for few sec nowadays.
2) Climb on us from our lap to shoulder when we sit on sofa to reach the window grills
3) Fav tv ads: Mobtv, Muchies, KFC, burst into laughter when watch these ads
4) Walk like crab along the wall
5) Just today we observed that many more new teeth are coming out and probaly at the same time? 2 each beside the 2 front teeth seems to be at the edges liao. His gums are red, and can see that he get irritated easily nowadays due to uncomfortness.

Hmmm, all these seems to be quite advance skill huh? Mummy is still waiting patiently for Jared to do some basic stuff, like wave bye bye, clap hands and self feeding biscuits etc!!!

A small celebration to celebrate the last mth of being a baby!!! Errr..why 2 candles? 2 yr old?? No!! 11mth! hehe

Bad fall & East Coast

Jared had a bad fall last Saturday. So bad that when we pick him up from the fall, all we saw was blood in his whole mouth. For sometime we thought his front teeth became shorter from the knock of the fall. Luckily, the blood stop quite quickly, and Jared also return to his cheerful self within mins after the fall.
His lips were slightly swollen for a while. We both were so heart pain to see his clothes stain with so much blood, and when he did the brrrrrr...his blood also brrrr out together... Luckily, everything went back to normal after 1-2hr. We even brought him to visit Pasar Malam at Causeway Pt that evening haha.

I'm wondering whether its good that Jared could crawl, he's so prone to accident nowadays...I recalled last time when he could only flip 1 side, I wouldn't even need to worry whether he's placed nearby bed side etc. Now I would make sure he's with me everywhere i go. In fact I put him on his high chair when I need to be away for short while to prepare his breakfast.





Some pics of that morning's activity. We brought Jared to East Coast again!!! heehee. Even though we had been to ECP many many times, but that day was still the 1st time that we actually put him to stand on the water/sand. To our surprise he actually cried big time everytime his feet got into water.

After that, as usual, we went cyling. This time round Jared enjoyed it much much more. In fact even refused to come down, when daddy need a rest..hehe.

p/s: Jared has finally got his hair cut!! Look so refreshing & handsome..hehe.

A weekend stay Indoor

Haze was really bad on last Sat. So we decided to stay at home in the afternoon. We finally get to go out only in the evening to Vivo City, the new largest shopping mall in town!. Most of the shops are not open yet, but we'll definitely go there again to check out the views facing Sentosa. After that, we went to Ikea to get another high chair for Sembawang. I'm so tired of chasing Jared to feed him his lunch/dinner. Funny thing is he never really like to crawl, but to escape from eating, he could crawl real fast hehe.

Jurong Bird Park 30 Sept 2006

We brought Jared to Jurong Bird Park on saturday cos I've a complemetary tics from col. Uncle Weiming & ah yi followed along too. From the experience of the previous zoo trip, I knew that I hv to dress Jared lightly. So here comes Jared in a yellow sleeveless top+bottom. hehe..Look like his sleeping clothes hor? hehe. Similarly, Jared still not very excited about the birds. But we did hv fun there especially at the Lorry loft, where daddy bought food to feed the birds, Jared get to see the birds in close distance. One of them even stop by Jared's head ..and end up he cried for a while. hehehe

The tour ended with lunch for daddy&mummy at Bongo Burgers.

A busy weekend for Jared and us

Jared has got a busy weekend. On Sat we brought him to the zoo, thanks to Lisa who's so kind to help ballot the tics. This help mummy save lots of $ hehe.
We got there around 9am, but I had to wake up around 6am to make Jared's porridge, boil water, make our own sandwich etc.

Weather was really nice, not too hot. But Jared never seems to like outdoor activities, no much _expression on his face and sleep most of time when we were there. He also refused to smile to the camera, not sure whether he is unfamiliar with that camera (We got the old cam to fix) or just not happy hehe. Anyway, he manage to see some monkeys, orang utan, white tiger, fish, giraffe, zebra, horse and polar bear.




At night, we went to Lisa's place @ SengKang to return the tics. A pic of Jared & Rae, Rae was born on 14 Dec, about 3-4wk younger than Jared. hmmm..jared's hair is way too messy as compared to Rae, need trimming soon..probaly next wk.

On Sunday, we brought Jared to join a trial class of Kindermusik together with the Dec babies. Jared again seems to be the toughest bb to handle. Refused to join those activities which required us to sit down. Luckily he still enjoy all the rest of the classes which required us to move around.

Jared is 10 mth old!

Time pass so fast that Jared's already 10mth old. Last night something interesting happen. When we heard him cry at nite, he was found to be out of the mattress already..knocked his head to the fan. Luckily all of us sleep on thin mattress on the floor hehe.
These are what Jared could do at 10 mth:
1) Crawl on all fours..but still slow and hardly crawl
2) Recognise object such as watermelon, microwave, clock, chopstick, papaya. (Jared will turn towards the object when asked where is it, and give a big smile when we praise him to be able to find the object)
3) Say papapa, mamama, kaaaa, brrrrr etc
4) Stand supported by the cot (It has been a while since we go back to our own home where his cot is there, so we had no chance to see Jared's skill on this part till he's at 10mth!)
5) Stand unsupported for a few sec (So far only ah yi hv the priviledge to watch it once, mummy& daddy hope to be able to witness the moment ourselves soon !)

6) Jared is 9.3kg now

7) Jared have 5 pearlies

Unfortunately, my milk drop quite badly ever since I've got back from US trip. So since 9mth 3 wk Jared is on 50% bm. His 2pm & last feed are on formula nowadays.
Our camera's memory is spoiled also, none of the pics can get downloaded including Jared's harley davidson and our US trip. So sad. Hopefully we can get this prob fix soon and take more of Jared's pic.

Some pic taken using ah yi's camera today. I felt he look pale? He has reject porridge for 2 days. Mouth kept shut whenever wai po tried to feed him. Hope his appetite will turn better soon.

2nd Honeymoon with Daddy to US 1Sept – 9 Sept & Jared's Harley Davidson

Finally manage to take 1 week off from Jared…*Hiak*Hiak* Jared, please don’t blame mummy. It has been a full 9.5mth that mummy has not taken any off days from you..hehe.

We went to San Francisco and Las Vegas. It was such a torturing flight 6hr to Narita, 2hr transit time, and another 10hr before I finally met Kee Ping at SFO airport. I left home around 4am on 1st Sept. Couldn’t wake up at all, cos Jared was waking up almost every hourly. Luckily daddy did call home to wake me up. I think I only managed to reached SF hotel at 4am 2 Sept Sg time. It was a total of 24 hour torture.

We started off the trip by walking all the way from our hotel at Union Square to Chinatown and finally Fisherman Wharf. Daddy don’t want to take bus and want to repeat the history of making me walk 10hrs a day like over in Rome during our previous trip..aiyo! But most of time I felt SF a bit too cold(60F)to move around, so I’ll forced Kee Ping to learn how to take the public transport hehe.

We went to Chinatown, Union Square, Fisherman Wharf, Alcratraz, Lombard Street, Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito in SF.

For Las Vegas, is the total apposite! approx 100F. Much hotter than Sg. Again, Kee Ping tried to force me to walk under the hot sun!!!..Just after 2-3 hotel hopping(covered only the nearest 3 hotel, my face get as dark as the Indian gal, everywhere peeling so I gave up…and go back to hotel to wait for the sun to set before going out again. Hehe.

We managed to watch Phantom of the Opera our first stage show! It was superb! I really like the show very much, although we sit quite far and can’t really understand the lyrics etc.

Besides that we also rent a car to travel to Grand Canyon and stay a nite there.

Okie okie, this is supposed to be Jared’s Blog..so should be everything about Jared!

After 2 weeks of commando crawling now occasionally Jared can crawl on all fours. Jared was also a happy baby during the times when we were away, he slept thru the nites, drinking well and eat lots of porridge too! Wai po was very happy with his performance.

Jared can CRAWL forward Finally!!

Just a while ago, mum showed me that Jared finally could crawl forward. We've been waiting for this moment for ages, and had tried numerous method...including setting a target toy, give jared a push from behind..everything fails!! He finally cannot resist the temptations of lights!! haha...(He has never fail to look at lights since birth, and till now still have a passion on all light bulbs be it in the day time, or night)

Mum made the room dark, tempted Jared with the lights from torch light...he tried so hard to follow the lights..It's so fun seeing him doing that... We felt that ever since he's able to sit up from crawling position, he has been a happier baby. So sure Jared will love the new skill he has aquired.

Hope tomorrow there'll be more progress.

Although ppl mentioned that some babbies will skip the crawl stage and go directy to the walking stage, daddy & me really don't wanna miss anything...and would like to enjoy the fun of crawling together and catching up with Jared.
