Disney Family Pics

It's extremely hard to take proper family pic in Disneyland because of the huge crowd. No one would be free to stop by to help you take a family pic...

They have got some professional photographers around to help ppl take pics, and these pics are available to view on website within 30days. But it's quite ex to develop with them >US10 per piece.

Those the professional took also not nice to spend $ on, most of them Jared doesn't look into camera..

So as the smart comp user..I use print screen, and made them into a collage..hehe.








Hmmm before I have time to blog about our disney trip, I'm being fan by 4July long weekend trip..here life is really good, I only fan2 about trips and cooking, of cos $ too...heheh..

Los Angeles Trip 21-24Jun Part 2

Day 2- started with driving to Griffith Park Observatory for the hollywood sign, actually the sign can also be viewed from the Highland mall..

We drove to chinatown after farmers market breakfast. It was quite a long drive and got lost over a few turn, and finally reach the chinatown...My goodness, it's even more lau yar than daddy's hometown ...it look very run down, no maintanence...After some search, we managed to find a proper place for dim sum...but the restaurant don't have air con..aiyo! It's at least 40C outside loh, luckily some of the dim sum are not bad...but couldn't eat much since so hot..hehe








After that, we drove over to anaheim about 30mins drive..and checked into hotel and zonk out..Then, visited the downtown disney, and had dinner, finally back to downtown disney to view the fireworks.






The fireworks at disneyland is everyday event..It's call "Remember...Dreams Come True" Fireworks Spectacular. It was pretty nice..but the next night when we watch it at Disneyland Main Street..the effect was magical. The fireworks show comes with story telling, music effect, and changing color of the castle...No words can describe how beauty that moment is...



But Jared don't like fireworks, he got scared easily with the pong sound..the moment fireworks starts he ask to go home...Pek chek..hehe

Los Angeles Trip 21-24Jun Part 1

I was really stressed up by this LA trip, didn't book anything till I came here..and together with taking care of Jared, cooking and still need to find time to research for the trip..quite tough..Glad that it went well though.

I knew way before we go that LA will be hot and keep suggesting to change location to San Francisco, but daddy think since we have been there, no point going there anymore. The weather was around 80-100F, approx 25-34degree all the time we were there. Hollywood area is hotter at about 90-100F, while anaheim 80-90F. Their weather is more humid, so most time it really felt like being in Singapore.

We've become more and more steady in term of packing, we only start pack after midnight after Jared slept, then leave the house at 6am for the 8.30am flight..hehe..so in the end we miss the toothbrush and my contact lens solution..So I had to wear sun glass on top of my normal glasses on 2nd day onwards hehe.

Their sun is very bright one, so glaring for the whole day till at least 6pm+..To make things worst, the malls are open air, other than those branded shops Gap, American eagle have sufficient aircon, the rest like souvenier shop along Hollywood, KFC, MacD in LA does not have aircon???!!...I couldn't believe it loh!

Walk of Fame, and Jared always looks gloomy and in his long sleeve pyjama, we carried him from bed to the airport, so didn't change him..Reached there hotel is not ready for us to check in.....

Ghee smile from Jared at Beverly Hills area. After checked in we went around driving at Rodeo drive, Bel-air to look at high end shopping and big massionate..the houses look real cool.

After that, we drove to Santa Monica, their famous beach. Couldn't believe it can be so crowded..I've never seen such a big crowd on beach else where before..And it's under big hot sun somemore..Jared slept through the whole time we were at Santa Monica beach. Then we continued the drive to Venice beach, couldn't find parking(legal or illegal ones)...all of them required US10-15 parking fee...so we didn't get off the car..

That's all we did for day 1..I think hollywood is really no big deal..hehe..

Rodeo Show, Pleasant Grove 20 Jun

Daddy brought us to catch a rodeo show which was held near our place, less than 5min drive.

I think it's like a cowboy show, its something different we can't catch easily in Singapore..not bad, but the show was a little too long 7.30pm to 10pm...I yawn a few times...hehe..especially when the animals doesn't cooperate, then not much fun watching.

The sitting area was like a open stairs...so it was quite dangerous, things dropped easily..like Jared lollipop...then we saw a little gal 1yr+ drop from the sitting which is at least 2meter high to the ground..It was scary moment, but lucky the gal can get up on her own..and cry a little, and then like nothing happens...steady loh!.

As for us, daddy held Jared even tighter after saw that.

Jared's favourite was the motorcycle stunt show.

Happy Father's Day!

I forgot to post Jared's 1st pressie for me for mother's day. It's the artwork done in his new school. The teacher thought them to say, Happy Mother's day, mummy, I love you.

But he could never say it correctly..

Closest was Happy mummy's day! He knew the pressie belongs to me, so he doesn't tampered with it nor try to destroy it.

We are glad that we could celebrate Father's day together this yr. But we didn't do nothing much...just sumptious home breakfast (trying to clear off most expiring stuf-like the donuts, breads..heheh), then followed by outlet shopping. He hate shopping, only kept asking for going to toy store..make me real pek chek!..

We went for a good dinner though, at TGI Friday...I think there's this outlet in JB, but I never been there. Mains are quite cheap about 10-15USD.

Road Trip 14 June: Antelope Island State Park, Air force Museum

Antelope Island is about 2hr drive away. Interesting location with an link bridge connected to the mainland. But on the day, all the sudden the weather turned super duper hot, so we didn't manage to see Antelope (look like deer), and ox within close proximity..only see them from far away. We see a lot of mosquito though, doubt anyone has ever encountered them..hehe..When we stop the car, the mosquito will start come by and park on the windows..and the "new car" front window got so many mosquito's body...so scary.

So we didn't stay there for long..

The new car, colllected the night before. It's a 3.7L Dodge small SUV. Jared, daddy's housemate and me all like the car a lot!..hehe.. But daddy has concerned over the fuel consumption leh. The previous car they were using was Hyundai Elantra..when one of daddy's col came to pick us up at airport using that car..I almost wanna faint..I've not seen such a dirty car before, inside and outside, outside full with sand and mud, inside got so many biscuit cui...Eeeee.

After that we went to an airforce museum to see air plane..Really a lot of planes, indoor and outdoor. Again, the weather is super duper hot for us to explore the outdoor planes. So we just remained indoor.

US Stay Wk 2 Update

My best homecook meal of the week, but also most complain kena.

Daddy have a lot of expectation from the steam pai ku, and I have to mess up by adding too much chilli..hehe.. 5 chili padi instead of 2..hehe

Beside being quite spicy, I must say it taste very much authentic like the one my mum make leh. Very good achievement for 1st timer liao.

Over in sg, I can't even bother to learn to cook these dishes, cos we eat home cook food till scared on weekday..then weekend we either take fast food, foodcourt, or I'll cook spaggeti..so after coming here, really jia lat..hehe. Everytime will ask my mum over skype, but a lot of times, need to recall how the dishes look like. Eg, stir fry cucumber, need to cut skin?, stir fry pork belly, to cut how thin and cook till how dry the pork? My stir fry pork belly got suan by daddy, taste like bak kua..hehe.

One thing improved is my pasta, I can cook creamy baked pasta really well now..hehe. I can even make my own creamy source..

As for soup, kinda jia lat too, I'm not used to adding salt, so even though I already added, the soup still taste very "original"..a bit strange lah.

Last wk's best dish is from daddy, bake chicken..taste really good, after he complained my cooking, I made him prepare a dish for us..hehe. That night he worked till late preparing beef ball for our lunch, and the bake chicken..and he knock off before Jared, and forgot to wear diaper for him...So he got so bz cleaning Jared and the bed in the middle of the night..hehe.

From time to time, and no reason, the wind here can just start to blow very very strong..too strong that we felt scared. Taken from the apartment balcony.

Once a week we will try to dine out, and I prefer eat their local food rather than Chinese food. Last week we had Wendy's burger.

Mexican Food: This week I decided to try out mexican food, Bajio. Wah lau..can never imagine food can taste so bad..hehe. The 2 dish, nacho and the wrap, contain odd combination, rice of different flavour, bean of different flavour..no more Mexican for us liao..hehe.. Ex somemore..USD20 for the 2 dish+coke. Heart pain.

Krispy Kreme Donuts: I've heard too much rave about it. So many ppl say its so good and you can't get it in Singapore. Missed it during our last trip at Las Vegas, too full to order, then kek sim after that..There's a outlet of Krispy Kreme -full restaurant around this area, so we dropped by to get it. They don't have fancy design like those from Donut factory, mainly plain like this. This 1 box of donut cost about USD6+ inclusive of tax.

Taste- Wah lau again!..no one with normal taste bud can tahan that kind of sweetness lor!..Its toooooooooo sweet for anyone to say good I felt. Although the bun is soft, so soft that when I ate, it drop on floor..hehe.



Shopping for no.2: All these ranges from US3-5 only bought from walmart hehe. Daddy thinks its quite pai seh to buy clothes from walmart, but hey, some of them are from carters-child of mine..anyway, as long as the material and design is good, why not?

This round shopping is not as good as 2yr ago trip, clothes are much more expensive already. 2 yr ago, I could easily grab $2-$3 item from sales rack from old navy, children's place for Jared...now sales rack item are close to $10 liao. So a bit dissapointing loh. Then again, its still much cheaper than in SG. Hopefully I would have more chance to shop, our weekend got many road trip arranged..so can be quite difficult..

Think I get too many pinkish stuff liao, daddy didn't like it. hehe. He hates to relate girl with pink...but everytime when I do the shopping, he busy entertain Jared..so he just nod head if design ok, then I buy..hehe.

Road Trip 7-8June: Bryce and Zion Canyon, Utah (Part 4)

The next morning, we continued the drive to Zion Canyon, approx 2hr. Jared slept thru the journey, so it was not too bad.

The drive into Zion Canyon was impressive!...Its like driving into the rock itself unlike Grand Canyon/Bryce Canyon...we are viewing from top or bottom, far away from the rock. But within the Zion itself, there's no scenic point..all they offered was tracking trails. Faint :( Its though for preggers and hb who need to carry Jared. So we chose the easiest trail..

We only managed to cover 1 tracking trail..as we were rushing of time. Its a long drive home of 5hrs..and so we left Zion Canyon at about 12pm+ and reach home about 5pm+. Its tough to be in car for so long under the hot sun. Jared made some fuss, refusing lunch etc..but finally slept most part of the journey.

Road Trip 7-8June: Bryce and Zion Canyon, Utah (Part 3)

Strangely when we were trying to book accomodation for Bryce Canyon since 1 mth back, it always showed fully book. But when we were there, most of them still showed Vacancy. So we checked into Best Western's Ruby Inn which was just outside Bryce Canyon and zonk off almost immediately. Hehe




Getting ready for dinner, weather was very cold and wind was so strong. See how many layers we layered him..hehe

After dinner, we rushed back to sunset point in the canyon trying to catch the sunset. To our surprise, the sun was not there!..After a long search, we realised that best view to watch sunset is from the lake in our hotel!..Pek chek!...hehe
