Preparing Jared for Dental Visit

We bought him a Dr Seuss's The tooth book, read to him very often till he could memorise the whole book...In the book it's share about milk teeth, permanent teeth...and finally tell him

Don't bite the dentist, cos he's your teeth best friend..

So after a long time of reading the book, he knew what to expect at the clinic. We are so lucky to get a dentist who's good at kids..He showed him the drill thingee, and scraper and let him feel it with his hand.

After coming back from the dentist visit, Jared become more willing to brush his teeth, the moment he had something sweet he will ask for brush. Hope this continues..and our biggest prob is never clean his teeth after milk at night..Really have to become more hardworking...

-Kaylen's first laugh
It was Jared who made her laugh, he sat on her rocker, and kick the dangling display.
Each time Jared kick, Kaylen laugh.
Unfortunately Daddy and me haven't get to heard it till now.

-Jared's 1st dentist visit
I got worried when I saw a round spot chip off front his front teeth
and everyday his teeth get worst..
Finally cannot tahan, I got daddy to bring to Smile Maker at Novena Medical center..
So glad that the dentist did managed to something with Jared's teeth, although not complete done,..yet it's already very expected already!
Jared could even fuss when needed to go in PD Dr Ong's clinic..yet let the dentist venture into his teeth..so happy!
But he don't know how to spit out the water after cleaning, he swallowed them..hee
Damage made: $80
Nowadays parent very cham, need to worry every detail of kids...The kids also so cham, 3yr old already go see dentist..hee

The 3 month old and the 3 year old!

Kaylen is 3month old!

-> Hobby: Pull up her clothes and enjoy her fist
-> Cry hardly at night everytime after we go out in evening
-> Can sleep 5-6 hour in a stretch at night ie. Not so good for my milk supply..hehe
-> Center of attraction when she go out, cos of her thick and smooth hair and chubby cheek..A lot of strangers will come over and talk to me about how nice is her hair
-> 6.14kg 60cm @50 percentile during check up on 10 Dec (3month 4 day old) Jared was 6.4kg at 3mth
-> Day time on breastmilk 3-3.5oz 3hourly,about 4-6oz of formula at night, take about 1 tin of 900g Similac per month (Ouch on mummy pocket!)
-> In general, I find her more difficult to take care as compared to Jared, she refused to latch on to sleep, cry super loud, etc


Jared is 3 year old!

-> Much more naughty, cos now he starts to beat Kaylen..*headache*..
-> Always bully Kaylen, like to jump up and down on top of her, and tell us his exercising
-> Like to say... Daddy, come and play with me! Nobody play with me!
-> Loves to play puzzle-eg Help dog find her home

Thanks to daddy who's nice enough to help take care of the kids..I still get to back occasionally...hehe..

We went to Putien at Marina Square..I like this place a lot, presentable deco and reasonable price..and food is good too!..

Singaporemotherhood forum, the legging hehe..seems like it's something in! Clothes were from June..look like a big gal wearing separates.

Xmas at Tanglin Mall- The yearly event & The lost & found Oopsy

Every year we would go to Tanglin Mall to see the xmas deco and the bubble snow..This we went too.

But Jared never like anything related to water...so he super scared of the bubbles.

Finally we found a place in Sg with Oopsy..Jared was so excited to see the Thomas Train set, spent at least an hour just playing there after 5min at the bubble snow..hee..

But here got so many kids playing together...and after batch of batch of kids left, our Jared was still playing there..aiyo..

The new zoo

Ah yi & wei ming got us the free ticket, so that we can visit the zoo's new features..To my disappointment all the new features need to pay.



$5 for the boat ride, which move really slow and got us to the new rainforest playground...

The newly revamped playground is much nicer and I love the baby changing and breastfeeding facility..It's got a small room with air con..very clean to use..





This is the only thing that caught Jared's eyes when we visited the Zoo over last weekend. Despite the new boat, carousel, horsy ride, and the big splash play ground...he's only interested in this.

After the rainforest playground, we walked back to the entrance since need to pay if were to take the tram...


Surprisingly it's not that far, and we get to visit the leopard, lion, zebra, giraffe along the way...We had never walk to the playground nor walk back to entrance before with the friends of zoo pass which came with free tram ride on weekday..hehe..

Love & Hate - Relationship with Kaylen

When he's mood is good, if being asked,

Adult: meimei 给 arang kuni 可 以 吗?

Jared: arang kuni 收报纸, 没有收妹妹, 妹妹是报纸吗?

When he's mood is bad, and Kaylen is noisy

Jared:妹妹送给arang guni

Daddy: 很晚了, arang guni 回家 睡 觉了

Jared: 去arang guni 的家 吵醒他

See, he can't wait to give meimei to karang guni when in bad mood...hehe..

Lazy mum

That's what a lazy mum would do such that she could enjoy her dinner..hehe..

I've seen so many parents in US doing so, so I've learnt the trick..just by stacking hanky underneate the milk bottle...voila...can continue eat..hehe


Dinner at T3, Crystal Jade Shanghai restaurant..So surprise didn't get to any airplane, and the foodcourt are so full, and the rest restaurant are so ex except this one..Quite tasty actually.

Selection of milk powder

Finally Jared is 3 yrs old..and I've waited so long for the day to come, so that I could switch his milk powder to cheaper option...hehe kiam siap mummy..He still drink lotsa of milk with bottle...

Before Kaylen's borned, I made an effort to call all the formula milk company to ask for sample for her..Didn't manage to get any though, since breastfeeding is the best..But managed to get a lot of samples for Jared, From friso, dumes, enfa,gain kid etc..

Jared's verdict on milk or our observation

Dumex-very watery, drink like not full
Friso-very fragrant, strong vannila smell..Jared seems to like it a lot and always ask for more
Gain kid-Jared also like this a lot, I think the taste should be close to Gain IQ which he has taken many years..

Finally, I got daddy to go supermarket to compare all the brands..hehe..and oops, seems like Gain Kid's nutrition is way beyond other brands. So we bought the 1st 900g Gain Kid.

Pro-cycling

This round, Jared was really really good in cycling already, He ride it sooo fast that we have to run behind to catch up with him..hehe..Kaylen joined too, I bjorned her all the way..

Jared is 3 Years Old!!!

Jared turned 3yr old on 19 Nov.

We took AM leave to bring him to watch Magadascar at Suntec, and lunch at La mien Xiao long bao before went back to work. Simple and easy celebration, last year when he turned 2, we also brought him for a movie.

In the evening we went to Nihon Mura for dinner and cake cutting..

The first outing with only 4 of us was to IMM, but too bad, no pic taken that day..

Me Bjorned Kaylen..felt so comfortable, and most of all finally make our investment worthwhile.

It's the first time I use the bb bjorn carrier, previous attempt all ended Kaylen crying badly..as her leg cannot open wide yet.




It's not easy bringing both of them out, need to prepare such a big diaper bag, and when dine time, need to pray meimei don't wake up..hehe..But in the end she still wake up and make a big poo when we dine at Marche..hee

Both of them behaved real well..looking forward to more outings. But I do feel guilty to bring Kaylen out at such young age, expose her to virus etc..last time Jared only starts to go out about 3mth old..

Update on the siblings

Kaylen is 2 month old!

- Notti, notti, notti :
When she sleep long long in the day time, we worry, cos night time she could not sleep When she don't sleep, she demand to carry all the time, just put down, she will cry big time.. So it's very tiring to take care of her.. Jared was like that too, but he more tut, it only happened when he was about 3mth+ when we moved back to whampoa. For Kaylen, 1 or 2 wk she turned 1mth old, she already very kacau..hehe.

-Her hair
She got lots lots of hair, so thick that you can not feel the soft part of her head..(i forgot what's that call), then she also like to throw up few mouth of milk everytime she stretches, so it make her hair very stinky hehe.. Then sometimes when she accidently grab her hair, she would cry very loud, and hold to the hair even tighter..very funny scene, happend at least 3x already..hehe.

-Relationship with kor kor
Real poor gal being no.2 Mischievous kor kor would occupy all her gadgets, the new rocker chair, the lion sleep mat, any things brought out meant for meimei will be occupy by korkor Also need to suffer few kicks when kor kor not careful Always startled by korkor's loud voice


Update on Jared

In a few days time he will turn 3 yr old! Wow, time past, and he is a big boy now. He has very good imagination, will tell lots of story about the cars, books etc He can't read books yet(he memorise the book, remember?), but each time will offer to tell story on the characters in the books..

Now he's trying to learn to read time from analog clock, but always got mix up with the long/short needle..

When ever he wants full attention from waipo, he will drag tai po to carry his meimei When meimei wanna pee, he also wanna pee, when meimei drink milk he also wanna drink milk..very funny..hehe..

Jared is a small boy with BIG PRINCIPLE...it's hard to change what's already routine for him.

Eg.

1) It's waipo who send him to school and pick him up After my confinement, I decided to pick him up everyday..The 1st day he saw me, he cried big time asking for waipo..This continues for 2-3 days, till he finally accepted me picking up him.

2) Wear school uniform to school Everyday he has to wear school uniform, so when it's party day when they have to dress in party clothes, we have trouble!..hehe..It will be so hard to change him in street clothes, and struggle to school..The last time, my mum only manage to put on extra t shirt on top of school uniform on the way to school...tell him school is cold, and need to wear extra clothes hehe.

Kaylen hardly dressed up because she hardly go out..hehe..Maybe I should say she never get to go shopping ..the only outing she had is going back to Sembawang on Fri evening and back to Whampoa on Sun evening hehe..and since it's evening she would be dressed in pyjama instead!

Kaylen @ Week 6

So chubby already!

She can take up to 4oz milk at this age, much much more than Jared. Jared was taking 2oz till about 4-5mth! She so gluton that plain water is also fine with her..aiyo..hehe

Eyes will open so big from 9-10pm onwards till record latest 2am. Luckily its improving to about 12am.

Our poor daddy has to make Jared sleep first then continue to make Kaylen sleep..

Farm visit

Finally tried the white goat milk, kinda scary taste has got goat smell..But Jared like it a lot, drank most of them!

Bullfrog farm is too dirty and sound scary, didn't like it...Maxkoi is not bad a lot of fish, but both places no visitor only us..
