Jared @ 4yr 10mth old

What's he up to now?

I remembered when he was 3 yr+ to 4 yr old, every month I'll be busy updating Kaylen's development..but I basically has got nothing to update on Jared...as we were too busy with the new born,..and Jared was doing nothing fantastic..

But right now, I just want to say..I am just so proud of Jared's development..though may not be superior compared to other kids..but he is definitely making lots of improvement.

1) Jumbo book
We have completed K1 Jumbo book and now we are working on K2 (English, math, science) book...Bravo to my boy..but we didn't complete the whole of K1 lah..especially those that he need to come out with sentence or own words.

He did very well in K2 book for reading comprehention, grammar and the maths..
Things to improve on is definitely spelling , and creative writing..
Take a look at the passage...he could read most of it without help, and answer the question
Words that he needed help: Passage , stairs
Its amazing for a hyper active 4yr old going to 5 able to do this in my opinion...well, at least compared to us last time M'sia standard..hehe..
I also got him the chinese K2 jumbo book, mum is working with him on it..but he has problem recognising chinese word without hanyu pinyin..

2) Peter & Jane 7A
We are at about middle of book. Looks like my goal to finish him all the way to level 12 before he turn 5 definitely not going to come through..But never mind..Lets try to finish till 9b...maybe he don't need to go further liao..cos I noticed he is now very good with reading even at this age..

3) Some others books
He read all these books to me..gosh again I'm so proud..be it the bedtime stories..or Mc queen story..(1 page)

4) Flash card reading & Spelling
Stack 1: 45 cards
These are the cards he could spell now..

Stack 2: 100 Keywords
When I received and started using these flashcard back in March’10, it was pretty too easy to flash it to him…as P&J is repeating these words again and again..I got a little heartache, but an1 wei4 myself that I still have Kaylen to flash to..hehe..
But now these cards came in handy …cos I’m working to make Jared spell all the words in it..cos these are the basic.

Stack 1+2+3
He could read 99% of the cards..only miss 1-3 cards sometimes..But we very scared if he asked to do cards reading..that means the whole floor will be full with cards…We started with 5 cards reading per day since Jan’10…and after a while he could read 50 of them…by the time he could read about 150 cards, together with peter & jane…the rest of 100 cards do not need me to go through one by one…He already knew how to read by himself..

I’m really hopping that’s how spelling will work out for him…though he still do it by memorizing..one fine day he will realize how to decode these words..

5) Violin

He just did his first public performance at home 19Sept 2010, Sun!..3 songs( twinkle, parsnip polka, little einstein) .to su4 su4(Uncle Kee Hung), uncle james, gu nei, teoh gong, the grands, aunty irene, me...*daddy hiding in room, scared pai seh eh* hehe
Though that's a home performance..I'm glad that he managed to perform quite confidently ..with minimal mistake..and if you know him, he is a scaredy cat..so doing things like that is really difficult..when everything ended..he came to hug me and say I love you mummy..
Boy, I'm so proud of you...and I hope you will continue to practise harder..and do well.

*too bad I didn't record down..cos pai seh mah, but his uncle Kee Hung did do a recording and guess what Jared commented?

6) EQ
He need to work on behaviour issue...

Kaylen 2 yr old Update

Basically she can hold a pretty good conversation with anybody. No more bb language..but still in mandarin though

can pedal Jared's bike everywhere now, cant turn the pedal round and round though.

Counting: When we start countdown for Jared, she also join in the fun..
a typical line from me:
Me: Jared, 5 more minutes ok...Five,...
Kaylen: four, three...two..one..
But she doesn't know what it means ..or know any actual counting..

Her stuff
She is very particular with her stuff..

Eg
She would not want to use koko’s tooth brush, tooth paste..and even the brand new bpa free avent bottle. Cos ko ko has been using avent brand..and drugstore shipped us extra after we complained lost parcel..and finally the original parcel arrived..so we now had 4 brand new bpa free avent bottle. And she refused to use it..so that means I got to buy new bottles for her.

Nottier than ever
She’s nottier than ko ko at the same time, climbing up and down…
Hit ppl ..

Diaper free in the day
She can go total diaper free in the day, she would tell if she wanna pee or poo..and no miss..unless she’s too engrossed in playing..in fact sometimes we bring her out without the diaper too.
But sometimes if she sleep too long in the day time during nap..she might still pee in her sleep.

Eating

She is amazing..she eat very very little most of time..We are considered lucky if she can take 2 tablespoon of rice with soup and some fish. Most time she just take 2 mouthful of rice, with some chic or soup..and that's it.

Dunno how she grow up..*haiz*..making her eat is like battling..

But she loves chocolates...heh..

Kaylen's Lunar Birthday Celebration

Did I ever mention this??

Kaylen's lunar birthday falls on 7day of eight month 2008...

If I had ever had time to check the lunar calendar before deciding when to come let her come out...I would delay 1 more day and pay for Dr Ang's extra to make her come out on that super auspicous 888 day...what's done is done..

Since my dad missed her angmo birthday celebration, so I planned for another celebration at Zhou's Kitchen with my tunglok voucher $100...for lunar bday celebration..Took the set meal, but after deduction still cost like $270...*faint*..and most imptly food wasn't really nice..But portion was really big..

They lighted the candles, turn on loud birthday music and staff clapping hands..frighten our Kaylen..hehe..She was shock throughout ...till after cake cutting hehee..

Kaylen's Birthday-Actual Day

After the celebration on 5Sept Sun at chalet..We all went home feeling exhausted..and did not do much things that day...MIL cooked a feast, mee suah for lunch while Kaylen had more drumstick..and steam fish and a lot of other dishes for the celebration..

Our mission for the day was to order a new fridge..it has been a disaster without a fridge..no cold drinks, no place to put frozen fish etc..

So daddy and me went out hunting fridge while Kaylen was asleep...

We finally bought a Mitsubishi 3 door at $900 at GainCity..with 5yr warranty top up.

After dinner, Kaylen changed into her new pyjama gifted by gu nei..it seemed so big at first..but really cute in her..It's a trendy thing now in Msia to wear korean style pyjama..So gu nei made 1 for her...

and I analysed to daddy that..see if we don't go chalet..this what we gonna do at home..sleep& eat..and wait for dinner time to go restaurant..
But if we go chalet, we could have so many things to do..hehe.
So I'll be trying my luck again next yr with the weather, and chalet location..

Birthday Celebration @ Downtown East Day2 Explorer Kid

We spent the next day morning after breakfast at Explorer kid...It was raining the whole midnight till noon..made me so worried if our bbq can still go on..but I decided to just don't think anything and enjoy the bonding time with the kids..

There wasn't much play stuff at explorer kid other than 2 ball pits and a giant exploring facility..But they had lots of fun running and climbing in the huge area...

I really liked spending birthdays at downtown east chalet, cos it doesn't burn a hole on my pocket, and there were so many things to do there like wild wild wet, train ride, swimming, theme park and explorer kid..It felt so much like a holiday..and I could have little gathering with my frens and relatives while savouring bbq food..

We felt mad rush as in daddy was trying to recover with jet lag, we all slept very late the night before due to picking up daddy..and unpack and re-pack again for chalet..and finally Jared fall sick..almost chickened out for the chalet..but finally we did it..and in a relax way..

Birthday Celebration @ Downtown East Day1

The next day after daddy arrived, we checked into Downtown east chalet for Kaylen's birthday celebration..I really like spending time there for bdays as there are soo many things to do, and always with happy mood...

It has been a while at least 3-4mth since the kids step into swimming pool..Jared was pretty scared as he did not have his ship with him...while Kaylen was like a wild child who had no fear of anything...She would try to dunk herself, or lie flat on back on the water which are what Jared scared most! They went swimming with waipo..I'm lazy to get changed. Daddy had to send the parents for dinner invite.

After dinner at Mr Chicken Rice, we walk around..Kaylen insisted to take daddy's pic..and my colourful berm is part of daddy purchase from the states..Kaylen like it a lot, keep asking me mei3 mah?

Daddy is back, after 3 mths

We started the count down like approx 2wks ..and everyday when I got home I would be asking Jared how many more days before daddy returns..

and finally he's back...after 3mths..he left on 2Jun, and back on 3rd Sept..

On the 2nd Sept, Jared was soooo excited the whole day..he couldn't nap, despite us telling him that he got to nap else he don't get to go to the airport..still he just don't have that tiredness in him..

After dinner, we went over to ah yi house at 8pm+ since she stayed at Tampinese..we went over and again trying to make Jared nap..still he could not..finally he couldn't resist the boringness at ah yi house..so we left at ~10.30pm for airport. They sent us there...reaching closed to 11pm..
Terminal 1 was all with reno on going..no viewing deck ..and it got so boring..and finally Jared fall asleep..while Kaylen was with me on trolley moving around..

and after a long wait..daddy airplane landed on 12.25am 3Sept..and we finally saw him again at 12.50am.

Kaylen was looking so forward to daddy returned..but she and me has the shockness to see daddy..cos his hair was very long like a mushroom hehee...and fat too...

Still Kaylen insist for daddy to carry him all the way on taxi..and finally fall asleep in his arms..
The next day when Jared woke up and first thing he asked daddy was why you look so different?...hehe

Then we went for breakfast after sending off Jared at the sch bus, and checked out the stuff daddy bough from the states..and went to pick up Jared from his school..and we had lunch at Waraku, Jared's fav restaurant.

Both insisted daddy to feed them, both wanted to sit together w daddy..and walk also must hold daddy hand...Kaylen is even cuter...potty also must be clean by daddy hehe..


Getting a haircut at novena square..Jared was very tired..while Kaylen get so interested..

T shirts and berms dear daddy got for me..if you think I'm lucky gal..see below pic..He's collection is 2x more..and I didn't take a pic of kids clothing..i think they got 3x more..up to 8yr old jeans..goodness..When Jared just started t outgrow his 3T jean, and proceed to 4T jeans now..aiyo.

Ta dah...2x more than me lor..He haven't even finish loots he bought in 2008, 2 yr ago..and started the new collection...plus he got another stack of brand new hard rock cafe ts to clear as well..gosh..and all clothes are for occasion only..not like me must wear the next day if got new ones..hehe..

a special biscuit bought from states ..the texture looks so complicated..and i love it a lot..Finished within 1 wk...
