Kaylen can walk!!!

This is part of the parenthood that made every parent excited! Out of sudden, she could stand longer time and start walk a few step today 23 Sept 09 @ 1yr 17days old. All the while before this, though she could stand unsupported for 1 to 2s..but in general she still look soft and weak to be able to walk..as compared to Jared at same time. Jared hardly crawl when close to 1yr old, he was like a crab walking supported everywhere...while Kaylen still crawl 99% of the time..and I thought she needed at least 2more mth to be able to walk..But then, miracle happens!!.. Me happy mum...hehe..but soon i'll be angry w her walking and running everywhere. Today when we got hm, mum told us the news..then Kaylen demo it to us immediately! and we forced her to do more walking after we got back fr taka for mooncake tasting..hehe..

Jurong Bird Park-revisit after a long break!

Think the last time we went Jurong Bird Park, I wasn't even pregnant with Kaylen yet. This time when we went, Kaylen is 1 wk be4 she turned 1 yr old. at least 2 yrs break!

I managed to ballot successfully from company..so just a good time to bring the grands together and guess what? Just when we all finish changing..the sky turned dark and rain heavily immediately..We waited and waited till close to 11am..it was still raining..No choice, we decided to go Jurong point for lunch while waiting for rain to stop.

Finally when we reached bird park was already close to 2pm+...It was still drizzling on and off..actually it was not too bad, not so hot..and made the trip quite enjoyable.

Kaylen loves bird..She would laugh kekeke everytime a bird fly away from stationery position..very funny!

and Jared was a brave boy..he wasn't scared even a bird landed on his shoulder..I was the 1 who shouted soooo loudly when the bird stopped by on my back..hehe

Kaylen's smile is so pretty...but her mouth pretty wide huh..duh not good for gal..hehe

We went back to Downtown east to take their ferris wheel with the complimentary tics from the chalet stay.

Kaylen's 1st Birthday Celebration-Actual Day

6 Sept Sun is Kaylen's actual birthday. Since we already had a splashed birthday party the night be4...Everyone was concoused today..

We spend time lazing, taking noon naps together...while Jared gets so bz w Kaylen's new toys...and claiming its his bday pressie! hehe.

We invited my side of family including Weiming to thank him for helping so much w the bbq...and since MIL was nagging and complaining that the cake last night was so pretty but we didn't had a proper family pic together, we also got another smaller cake to take pics and sing songs again..hehe

Kaylen in her new dress which my mum shorten it..and she look so pretty in it now. Last time was like sarong..

Since Jared didnt wear nice clothes the nite be4, he also dressed up for today..




Its so diff to get them both to pose properly...

Wowow..time pass so fast..she's actually 1 now..a toddler already! Now i hv 2 notti tots at home..

Development over the part month:

Breastfeeding:
The mth which seems so long..I was struggling to bf her to 1 yr old!..ever since I gave up midnite pumping, day time supply also reduced as what I've expected..then the little gal suddenly increase her milk demand fr 3.5oz to 4oz to close to 6oz each time. So sometimes she needed top up of 3oz of fm in the day time. Then at night, I still latch her..but before sleep she also need top up of 3oz fm.

Good thing is we have not spent a single cent for her stage 2 formula..hehe..She was taking some samples fr diff comp...we figured out since the amount of fm she take is so little each day (3oz to 6oz max)..so it doesnt matter to change brand hehe.

she actually scratch Jared on the face, when he was trying to help me button her clothes.
She is always interested in Jared stuff..point and ah ah to indicate she wants them

Verbal Development
bye, mama, Harlow, bao4 bao4
And on her actual bday, she said bao4 bao4
to get someone to carry her
She would pick up any phone and put by her ears ..and said harlow.
She call Jared or anything she interested
ahhhhh woooooo, or

Physical Development
Can crawl really well but w her 3...less painful eh..hehe
Stand w/o support for few sec
Her gong gong has seen her make the first step ...on her bday too.
Like to be held and walk w support.

Strangers
Super scared of strangers..hates it when ppl trying to carry her..

Teeth
When i did the monthly update for last mth, she only had 1 teeth errupted
But now she had 4 teeth!
2 on top (1 very big quite a bit came out, 1 just errupted)
2 at bottom (both are small and came out a bit only)
She bite me pretty often when I latch her nowadays..as a result she would get a hand palm fr me..bad mummy! hehe..

Post Kaylen's 1st party Thoughts..

Finally her 1st birthday party is over!...All the 3 of them..Jared, Kaylen and daddy were so tired that now 8+am Sunday..they are still deeply asleep..

This give me good time to upload the pics to facebook and update the blog hehe..

We had the party at downtown east chalet..so that Jared can sort of having some hol since he like going away fr house.hehe

You just don't know how much I got dissapointed after we checked in, when we found our room..Even though I've specified ground floor, nearby to entrance unit to the staf at booking, calling up to confirm its ground floor...finally when we were here...My BBQ pit is not right in front of my unit!!!..What's the significance?? there goes my party deco stuff loh..I was swearing & cursing the downtown east ppl..and envy other unit w their private pit everytime i pass by them..haiz..

Luckily we found 1 lampost and 1 tree right beside our bbq pit...so our banner and name (cost $7.20 for 6 character loh)..can be put up there ..hehehe...Thanks to daddy who help w the deco under my instruction..it turned out not bad!..

and after that I realised that its so good that we are not limited to 1 bbq pit right in front of the unit..cos each table is assigned to a pit..With so many free table at our area, For sometime it looked as if I booked all the place..hehe..Guest have proper place to sit and eat..although later on there were ppl who start bbq..we still hv at least 3 tables for ourselves..During peak time, we had at least 5 tables..

Imagine if we had only 1 table to our unit, the rest of guest got to stand and eat..I was thinking they hv to go garden nearby to eat loh..


With the perfect weather, and dedicated cook Weiming & part timer my sis..I only had to concentrate on my guest and gal of course...She was crying here and there becos dun want to be carried by others..and being too tired..

She fall asleep half way through the party,after I latch her..and when she woke up...it was cake cutting time!!!...Just nice..though still grouch..but was alright lah.

As for Jared..he spent most of his time guarding his sparkles..or get drinks for guest and refuse to take pics..haiz..and finally he took his dinner at 11.30pm+ ...

Overall, am really glad that we celebrated Kaylen's birthday here..!!

Now Sun AM...outside is raining w thunder..how lucky we were yesterday!

Happy Kaylen after the event..the top she wore was from US, the first thing I liked and bought for her when I was there. That time I was 5mth+ pregnant with Kaylen..the next day after we arrived, daddy bought us to Rose..his fav cheapo shop..and I found this..couldn't resist buying it..cos so pretty at US3.99 only!!!

Our 3D2N chalet stay!

The last we stayed in the chalet was 2 yrs ago when Jared celebrated his 2yr old birthday there.. Each time we would totally enjoyed ourselves there...though the condition of the chalet wasn't that perfect like a hotel..Everything is bare min..but still, I find myself prefered chalet to hotel stay..Mainly cos we get to hv a sumptious bbq dinner..hehe..


This time round with the newly built E-hub..the place is become much more interesting... but this time we actually made ourselves too busy...We visited ah yi's new house at Tampinese, forgot the laptop bag and swim suit...going back to and fro from Sembawang to pick up the grands..in the end we did not really made full use of the stay..

So I really hope to go there again soon!

Jared: I have a pet, My pet is mei mei

(He like to say this so often, I wonder how he learn that since he has no pet, meimei can be his pet..hehe)

(2) Fat and Cake
Jared wanted to eat cake at night 8pm+
Me: No Jared, you just brushed your teeth..and you are too fat
Jared: I like to be fat

(3) Holidays
Ah yi is showing off her trip to Japan as part of honeymoon...and showing off that she is going to Disneyland
Ah yi: I'm going to disneyland, where are you going?
Jared: I'm going to disneysea and disneyland.

(Daddy and me wahhh...cos we've purposely avoided talking about the Japan trip 1 month before the grands coming..It was supposed to be a secret till later on..hehe..and he actually still remember. Sometime ago after we book the airticket, we did do the research of disneysea and disneyland together..)

(4) Indian?

(of cos I corrected him to use an indian instead..hehe)

Jared is always doing funny things to meimei...When he don't feel like eating the plain cheese, he feed meimei..the tasty one, tomato and ham flavours..he finished at 1 go...Besides cheese, he also fed Kaylen ice cream and watermelon skin..

Singapore National Day Celebration

On the 7 Aug, the whole kindergarten, primary and sec school in sg was having national day celebration. School encouraged the kids to wear red& white to attend the party..

But this seems something "extra " for jared's TRBK..where they everyday wear red&white uniform including PE attire..

Nevertherless, my mum bought a set of national day clothes for Jared..at $5..hehe

Kaylen is 11 mth old!

11 month old
-> In borned dancing gene..
She loves listening to songs..will dance accordingly..unlike Jared who does not have a single music sense...



-> Still on Breast milk
but suddenly increase demand so much just before sleep, so have to open formula from 21Jul (10.5mth)to suplement 3oz before she could knock off.

-> The only 1 tooth..has errupted!

->Drink from straw
drink really well, she could use Jared's bottle even though the straw is so long.
in fact I get very pek check with her hand me down mag mag cup, which the lid is already crack..So a lot of time she would be sharing bottle with Jared till i find a new bottle for her
Jared on the other hand is absolutely hopeless when come to these type of physical skill..he only manage to drink from straw after 1 yr old.

-> Clap hands, do 1 yr old hand gesture
I havent seen her doing the 1 yr old hand gesture, but has seen jared demo it to me..hehe

-> Common language with kor kor is the super high pitch shouting..
Its really funny to watch both of them talking to each other, Kaylen has that capability to make those super high pitch shouting..and only Jared can shout so similar like her..Us adult cannot make such high pitch voice.

->Crawling everywhere at home
Now is more possible to leave her alone while I do something in the kitchen..she would slowly crawl to the kitchen to come and look for me..I remembered Jared only manage to this when he is so close to 1 yr old..

-> Love eating rice
She can take a mouthful of rice at one go..

-> Mamamamama
When she's looking for me...she'll keep say ma ma ma ma ma ma..
When she wants to eat, she says mum mum mum
But still refuse to call me mamee..

-> 8.5kg 67cm (jia lat, Jared was 9.3kg at 10mth)

Road trip to JB

The GPS is the greatest invention after aircon..haha..

It allows us to navigate easily in JB..first we go to Jusco Tebrau, then we visited Shu Teng at austine perdana..then we went to the airport to pick up the grandparents..and before we come back, we went to have dinner at Pekin Restaurant..at Sutera Utama..

The big and small potty...

Kaylen- just started to poo on her small potty, which was a hand me down from Jared who has outgrow it

ared- insist on poo on his big potty..which we have told him numerous time that his legs are too long for the potty..So if he still do not want to poo on toilet bowl, I need to buy him a pail instead..hehe..

Jared would spend his own sweet time on the potty..playing with his toys, moving around..(yep, he can move w the potty). While Kaylen who always do her job fast fast.

Kaylen is 10 month old!

-> Still on total breast feed
My milk supply has been doing very well this mth..stabilise at lunch 5-6oz, tea 4.5oz, midnight 4oz..but subjected to drop..since I've been lazy to wake up at night to pump..and always resorted in offering Kaylen a nice supper..hehe..

-> Solid intake
Very bad, she fall sick 2x during this period...from eating 1 bowl, to half bowl...then finally not more than 3 teaspoon each meal ..
she's probaly now lighter than what she was at 6mth old. Luckily her face is round (like me!)..so still look good hehe

(But as I post this pic, she has regain her appetite..that explain why 2 days after she turned 10mth old..she look chubby again!)

-> Physical & intellectual development
Crawling on all 4s everywhere now
When she crawled and reach the destination she would change herself to both knee down instead.
Hardly hold her milk bottle..if you let her hold on to it, the milk would be dripping to her hair and everywhere instead of the mouth..
Use only 1 hand when hold on to something to stand up
Can start to move the feet to walk with guide
Basically her physical and ability to understand what we said is much better than Jared at the same age, but in term of knowledge..probaly not so good. At this age, Jared would be able to identify cards btw tiger vs dog etc.
But Kaylen would chew on the cards instead.
and finally we felt her TEETH is coming!!! have yet to cut through though.
