CNY 2021 : waigong bday

This used to be the biggest yearly gathering with all our kids, now minus the kids. It kept me wonder how we used to feed so many mouth of over 20s. Heh.

sourdough #28, 29, 30

Sourdough #28 : failure, so bad that I didn't take a pic, lazy starter with no refresh, just feed 8x before the night, too much salt, so added too wet oat porridge. Ended up a flat and wet and gummy

So its twice in a row I had bad sourdough


Prep for Sat gathering, doubled the 300g loaf rcp

Sourdough #29 : jalapeno, olive, fried onion and parmesan cheese.
Made on tues cold retard at 5pm, bake and on wed 9pm, 28hr cold retard

one of the bestest loaf, no spread, good oven spring

Bread stay super soft even it was made on wed and cut only on sat


Sourdough #30
Made together w #29, but bake on thur 9pm. 52hr cold retard
Quite a prominent ear but the whole loaf felt like over proof a little. There were bubbles on skin when yaken out from fridge

CNY 2021 年初三


Collage from Irene. Too busy prep, and forgot to take proper pics.  The abalone was the smallest I ever received. We usually "gift" abalone but never buy for ourselves, got a shock when we open this can. End up add it into scallop & vege dish. Dear Daddy like to cook scallop for long time, always too salty and shrink too small.

Meat platter had ngor hiang, hakkka zhar rou and char siew. I pre marinated the char siew and put in freezer, taste pretty good. Left 2 slice only. 3 big ngor hiang all gone.


It's vday that we never gotten celebrate
