My 34th birthday Pre Celebration

Today we were on PM leave as its the 1st appointment of our Sembawang hse...and after the HDB appt..we went to have high tea buffet at Barracks, Demsey..Its the 1st time we both go there..skipped our lunch..and when we reached there was almost 3pm+..Imagine how hungry we were..heh


So the very first few bites of the food..was so so so yummy..although the place turned out not as nice as what we researched on the net..

The cupcakes are very good, not sweet..and bite size..

 Variety of sweets

 The salty item, skinny pizza..which is so yummy..the vietnamese roll..not bad, but if have chilli would taste better.

The buffet area in a glass window room..not the type like hotel..but enough to feed all..and even the hungry us couldn't try every single item...But we actually expect to have scones and finger sandwhiches..a little dissapointed it wasn't there.

Overall, its still value for $..its abt $22+ per pax..

Jared and Kaylen's Development Update

Jared at 6 year old

Didn’t have time to really write down his milestone

1) Teeth-all intact

Is this an achievement? heh

He started having his 1st tooth decay at 2.5yr old at the front tooth..it was so ugly, with the dark dot every time he open his mouth and take pic.

We brought him for his 1st tooth filling at Smile maker at Novena..it was disasterious..daddy was hugging him, 2 nurses was holding him..and finally he bite the dentist..and we got scolded big time by the dentist..

Then he continued to have more decay on the upper teeth..and daddy refused to bring him anymore..so when daddy was posted overseas during Jun’08…when he was 4.5yr ..I tried my luck again bringing him to dentist on my own..We were so lucky to get a very patient doc, Dr. Holy Koh..every weekend I would bring him to do some filling for concecutive 4-5 wks..and burnt a big hole on my pocket must hv spent $500..on these..and the reward for him, we brought him to Genting..hehe

From then till now..everything was ok, no further decay..and up till right now, most of his friends have lost some tooth….all his still intact..

From worry about him being the 1st kid who bogeh..now I worry why his tooth havent come out..hehe. Maybe he might be the very few who bogeh at P1..hehe.

2) Maths

I’m very proud of myself teaching him matchs..



After some struggling on some not so straightforward math question he finallly got the +/- fewer, lesser etc figured out. I quite like the challenging sums from this 100 challenging question book.

But he still have problem with understanding question for multiplication/division

Eg. 10 books cost $40, how much a book cost.

3) 20kg

Still very small size but eat a lot…just that lately he don’t take full meat other than bak chor and fish


Kaylen at 3yr 2mth

1) Puzzle

She is really really good with puzzle..48 pieces have no problem. We also got 1 set at $1 from value shop..should have 100 piece in that ..and she could do that with some help too.

2) Write

0-9 (except 8)

Jared's 6th Birthday Celebration

@ J8 Icing room..The smart mummy me, thought anyway a cake is needed...when groupon was having the offer I grab it back in Aug..so got the deal at $12 for a $20 cake..and with groupon deal we also got a few extra packet of deco.

We had a happy time decorating the cake..

While waiting for seats at Watami, we went walking around...

Watami dinner..we got a deluxe set meal @ $59, came with 1 ramen, 1 pizza, 1 salad, chicken cutlet, beef sukiyaki hot pot, shashimi/sushi, and order another seafood/chic rice...So many variety..very nice dinner..but taste wise can't eat too much, cos these Jap restaurant tend to be very strong flavoured.

 We had the longest dinner in Watami, entered around 7.30pm, by the time we left was already 10pm..cos 1st Kaylen stomachache, so went poo poo, then during mid dinner Jared 's turn to cry cos of stomache...so we waited so long for him to come back then he got mood to cut cake...heh..Luckily after the poo, they both become so cheerful again..and start arguing who should cut the cake ..hehe

The cake now come in black forest too, chose it over vanilla cos we just had too much vanilla cake from Jared school bday..heh

P1 Admin Day

We both took leave for the P1 Admin day..collected the forms in advance during Jared sch bday and filled them all up, so it was much faster on the actual day itself.

Bought this during our trip to JB..RM29.90 after conversion $13.80 only..but didn't find Kaylen white shoe..Hopefully can find in S'wak..hehe.

Trying out sch uniform..just realised sch uniform for primary are so cheap...$6-7 for top, bottom each..a set only cost <$14...wow..We bought 2 set of uniform, 2 set of PE

At the canteen...saw many parents were taking picture of what 's sold at each stall...

It's his 1st time in the school..the next time we come will be 29Dec P1 orientation day with full uniform..hah

This time after year again...Goodies pack packing

I love preparing goodies bag for kids..

This is what we got this year..tried to stay away from giving all junk food..

So we had, wang wang xue bing, cornfakes, cheekadies(junk) and 2 sweet...No toys this year, as I can't find what I like..so we replaced with a agar agar lightning mcqueen as dessert.

P1 Preparation: School Bag

As I was doing my research for P1 preparation, came across that most ppl used SPI ergonomic bags..and this come with a huge price tag...Prices starts from $129 and above..I got really shock with P1 school bag prices..

Then when we saw the shop at united square was having $40 off..immediately we chiong to buy after lesson.

But SPI school bag design is really so so to bad.

Why I’m so supportive on it? We own and have tried no brand bag vs samsonite bag pack before. No brand tend to be so painful to the shoulder..and our samsonite is really so so good, its durable, friendly to shoulder no matter how much stuff you squeeze on it. Now we have converted all our bagpack to samsonite..heh.

So for jared so small size, yet hv to carry big bag, I think and hope SPI will be good for him.


What’s next? Shoe..I’m eyeing addidas white shoe..yes, kids in sg wear addidas and nike to school..(I wanna faint again). And I also found out that each kid have 2 pair white shoes, so I’ll definitely get a pair of Bata when we go back M’sia next hehe..adidas shall kiv.


Uniform- Most kids are having minimum 3 set of uniform and 2 set of PE. We have yet to decide, probably 2 set uniform and 2 set PE.

TRBK Orientation for Kaylen

On leave for her orientation and brought her along to school..after the principal's talk, we queued up for buying uniform and finally she get to play at the school playground.
