Hey, Perth..We're coming..
Taking the 9am flight, both KP and me wake up as early as 5am to get ready..We left for airport at ~6.30am. Jared was in good mood that morning, can't stop babbling while we are getting ready..hehe.

Thankfully it was only a 5hr flight..Jared only had a nap in the bassinet for as short as 30mins, just enough time for us to have lunch. The rest of time he is either walking around or disturbing the passenger at the back row..playing peekaboo with them or playing with the toy from the ang moh kid sitting next to us.

We reached Perth airport about 2pm, after clearing the custom & collecting the luggage it was around 3pm + already. The moment I stepped out from the airport, I felt like giving my good friend Arther a kick! It's not cold at all, probaly like Genting..Luckily I was smart enough not to bring the winter jacket I wore during honeymoon, although I would be happy to be able wear it again (so ex, yet wear only once)

Jared was tired out and slept thru the bus journey to Aaron's Hotel. This is real bad hotel, room is so small that we have problem open up our luggage.

This term's theme...thumbling..it's hard to drag Jared out of ball pool to join the activities man!

As parents, I thought My gym doesn't really offer a lot of things to learn...(my definitition of learning could be wrong though, ie flashcard, ABC, counting..well, kiasu mummy..hehe)... But for the kid, I think it's really the happiest 1hr.

We finally made a trip to Upper Pierce Reservoir for picnic. (errr..Finally I'm able to confirm that this is the park with Monkey).

Of cos I do not have time to prepare for any food..Just tah pah some chwee kueh and bee hoon from Chong Pang market and together with our picnic mat...Voila..We're going to picnic!! hehe..

Just when we managed to find a place with shade and laid our food..a monkey came to join us!..It walked around our shelter..waiting for us to give him food. Our dear Jared, gets so excited cos he thought its a 猫 haha. When we finished the food, ready to pack up, another monkey came...So kam cheong! Almost had to abandon ship and run for life..hehe..

It's fun overall..hope the next time I would hv time to prepare food for the picnic.

Easter

We don't celebrate Easter, but this year Jared received a cute set of Easter egg, rabbit and carrot from Cousin Kiau. Grandma brought them back from Oz. See how Jared play with the chocs. He smack the egg so hard on the floor till out of shape.

Another exciting milestone met!

Jared could say his own name "Jared" when asked since 8 Apr, Sunday. But when both daddy and me tried to ask, he always refused..Today I asked many times..still refused, till I brought him to his fav toy..the PC at home..then he would say his name when showed him the pics on this blog..hehe.

My Gym

Just enrolled Jared with my gym, and went to the 1st Class Yesterday 7 Apr.

Had been so lazy to send Jared for any class..mainly cos KP and me had only 1 common off day in the past. So every Saturday is very precious..I didnt want to be tied down by any course.
Since this mth onwards, I managed to change to Sunday shift like KP...it would be too boring to go out on both days yeah?..So off Jared go with some enrichment course..We had a trial when he was 10mth old...Daddy concluded that he's not suitable yet and cannot follow instruction, that's also part of the reason or excuse?? hehe..

This round, Jared followed better with teacher's instruction (in the beginning at least)...but once he found the area with lots of balls...He can never follow the teacher anymore..always point to the ball..and say go go...asked daddy to bring him there..

Jared call me "Mama"

A day to remember..Jared call me "mama" early in the morning @6.30am when he wake up from his mattress on the floor and climb on to our bed..

Unfortunately I ignored him, cos I thought its 3am..hehe..

Jared's Car Ride

Rented this little car for Jared to sit in while we shopped at Parkway. Car rental is $3 per hr, Daddy felt heart ache as it seemed to be more ex than his own car's parking fee..hehe..

New Fav Place - Upper Pierce Reservoir

We love this new place we found. Its the Upper Pierce Reservoir, it's so near to our house, so close to nature...

We usually starts the day off with breakfast at Casuarina Prata, I love their plain thosai..their prata's curry not so nice though..and after breakfast we will drive through the road towards lower pierce reservoir, and being greeted by lotsa of monkeys along the way..


We goes there for dinner too!..Tah pao our dinner from coffee shop nearby and off we go..In fact, we just got a picnic mat..soon we'll be able to do our own picnic there..hehe..

A visit to neighbour's house

It's the same Indian neighbour who gave him wa wa..the little bear..and so Jared now addressed all soft toys as wa wa.

Jared is 16 Mo!

2) All animals except fish, the rest are mao1....for eg. dog, lizard, bird..everything also mao1 (cat) 3) Tap on chest when scared...scared of dark room
4) Loves to cap back mineral water bottle, will say " kai1"(open) the cap for him to cap it back.

6) Definitely don't know how to call daddy and mummy...even the bear ..he call "wa wa" so nicely...pengz...
7) Favourite drink, yakult and vitagen, can hold the bottle and drink it from straw

Changi Airport

We made a visit to Changi Airport,...errr..out of place to go already!..hehe..Went there to have a close up view of the planes..

Taken at Swenson, Jared tried fries for the first time. He'll only suck the "juice" from the fries, and split out the remaining.

Upper/Lower(?) Pierce Reservoir

Was on leave, trying to re-new my passport. Going to JB plan was changed last min as we heard need 2 days to get the passport ready. So we went to Malaysia's high comm at river valley instead. To my surprise, some idiot came out with the rule that need to get queue no. the day before, if not, cannot do. So practically if wanna get a passport from Sg, need to take a total of 3 days leave..1 day to get queue no..2nd day to queue, and 3rd day to collect passport..I really cannot endure this system..they think everyone is as free as them?? -No choice, as long as I hold a M'sia passport I need to obey the rule..sueh!-

Enough about the complain..

We went to the reservoir after breakfast at a Prata shop along Upper thomson. Have always wanted to visit the reservoir, but everytime after our prata breakfast, Jared would hv in dreamy mode..hehe..

1st Wedding Dinner in Singapore @ Furama Waterfront

It was my cousin's wedding..so all of us attended the wedding held at Furama Waterfront on 9Mar, Fri. Jared is as usual bz disturbing us on the dining table with the chopstick poking around our plates & bowls..hehe. The dinner started late ..closed to 9pm and when it ended at 11pm, Jared almost turned zombie, yet refused to sleep..Finally zonk out in the car on the way home..hehe.

Daddy brought Jared to walk along the corridor, while Jared noticed the shadow of some card boards pasted on window from outside. So daddy casually asked Jared, What's that?? To our surprise Jared answered "innn...do" = window.

Jared said "daddy bao4" (daddy pls carry me)...when we were at the doorstep, waiting for him to notice that we are going out. Usually he will be busy playing, walking around...but will dash immediately to the door when he noticed someone leaving...

The Indian neighbour from Whampoa gave Jared this bear bear..Confirmed he's the neighbourhood's "aunty killer" hehe

By the way, Bottle Tree Park in Yishun is really a nice place to dine in with beautiful views with lakes and fishing pond surrounding it...except the MRT noise though. But the food was so so, too blend when were there..We've decided that we'll give it another attempt in near future, cos Bottle Tree Village's food in Sembawang during normal days was quite good.

Happy CNY 2007!

We've got Jared a Foxbaby-the long sleeve t shirt, and purposely choose one with 6-12mth so that he could wear it now. The one with 12-18mth is way too big for him. Similarly all the clothes that we got for him from US, is still way too big, so this year he could only wear the round neck t shirt. Special thanks to ah yi and uncle Wei ming to sponsor a set of aeroplane clothing for Jared..like I mentioned many times...Jared would love to wear the no. 3 big pony same like Uncle Wei Ming for his 3rd bday yeah! hehe.

We went to Kee Kee's place to have a gathering dinner on 3rd day of CNY-21Feb, together with Kee Yong's family and invited them over to our place 24Feb. Pics in the collage showed all Jared's cousins...another 6 of them(Jessie, Christopher, Michael & Angelina...Lincoln & Lewis). Jared can't seemed to know how to mix around with other kids, most of time is pretty reserved. Didnt manage to take any pic for the gathering over at our place though.

Reunion Dinner 17 Feb 07

As usual, we had the reunion dinner at both place, our own place at Sembawang

@ 3pm and another session @ Whampoa at 6.30pm.

We had steamboat + yu sheng at Whampoa while at Sembawang, is usually all kind of dishes...We(daddy & mummy) contributed curry chicken this year..easy one hehe..

To keep us free during the makaning session, Jared is usually entertained by his Baby Einstein DVD-Van Gogh..the only one works so far..hehe.

Jared is 15 mo!

Development for the past 1 mth:

1) Raised his hand when asked Who is Jared? Who is clever boy? Who is handsome boy? When being commented naughty boy, he will replied with an angry tone "humphhh(1)!"
2) Says star, car, yu(fish) - Loves to look into sky at night to search for star, and point to the star and say star
3) Can recognise horse, pumpkin, mango, dog, cat..and many many other flash cards. Will point to the object when being tested, only when mood is good though. Stand up to yell happily when we clap hands.
4) Start sweep his palm accross my face when asked to sayang mummy.
5) Know more parts of body like knee, head, ankle, tummy. He don't know where is his own nose though, when asked about nose, he will start pinching that person's nose..hehe
6) Loves to lead the way when go shopping, no holding hands allowed.
7) Suspect molar coming soon, loves to stick finger into mouth lately
8) Recognise way to go from lift lobby to Whampoa or Sembawang house.
9) Clap hands and do gong xi gong xi
10) Sleep through (Keep our fingers crossed) that this will last...but need to drunk him with approximately 12oz in total. 9oz at 9pm..another 3oz 1hr later. Kam cheong daddy will still wake up in the night to check on Jared if he keeps tossing around, needs milk? etc
11) Squat down at corner to poo poo, turn around the spot to relax tiring legs after squat down for long time
12) Loves to play hide and seek, hide himself and let us search around for him
13) Favourite CNY goodies are bak kwa & prawn cracker (even though its favourite, he will only take 1 to 2 bite...the rest?.. he simply throw it the moment he got hold of it)
13) Will complain if he don't like the nursery ryhme we sang

Updates on Coming CNY

New year is coming this weekend. We had sooo many uncompleted task..hehe...

(i) Jared's hair Seriously, need a good hair cut, The last hair cut was done before his 1yr old bday, so it has been almost 3 mths..and he has begin to look more & more like mushroom

(ii) New shoe
Been to colottee many times, but yet to find the perfect shoe...looks like have to settle with the old bobux liao hehe.

Aimed to get Jared's hair trim by Wednesday V-day...cheapo daddy & mummy will be celebrating their V-day earlier, that's Today to avoid the expensive restaurant charges..haha.

Night Safari

Has been real busy lately ever since I came back from MCs.

Nothing much happened except we've been to the night Safari on 2 Feb, Thanks to sabrina who helped to buy the discounted tickets. We started with walking in the trails, but the surrounding was really dark..We had hard time to spot the animals..hehe..So Jared fall asleep even before we manage to take the tram.

Ouchhh!!

Finally got my wisdom tooth extracted..need to suffer the physical pain and heart pain (3x more ex compare to my 1st extraction 6-7yr ago) ..hehe..But good thing is I'll don't need to go to work till next Mon...Hooraaaayyy...

During the extraction process, the c-section process I had when Jared was delivered came to my mind (need to convince myself wisdom tooth surgery is nothing compared to c-section..hehe).. Suddenly I got phobia of the giving birth process and the post delivery trauma ...Never get to hold and breastfeed my baby till the 4th day..and need to creep my way to NICU to stroke him on his back...So so the pitiful..!..

Jared is 14mth!!

Progress for the past 1 mth:
1) Walk all the time, and apparently has forgotten how to crawl..cannot get through tunnel in playground..cos will get stuck as he would stand up trying to walk through it..haha.
2) Good in using remote control to turn on air con, change tv channel. Fave toy so far..
3) Attempting to do somersault by raising high his butt
4) Still bb tok, nothing meaningful yet…best word is when ask ai mai (want or dun want?)..he will answer “mai” if he don’t want..hehehe.

We are back!!!

We are finally back in S'pore..Home sweet home..!

This trip is not exactly a smooth one. Our flight to Sibu on last Sat was delayed a total of 6hr..we actually had to wait at Senai airport for full 8hr!!. It was caused by plane skid at Kuching airport..when we finally reached Sibu, it was already close to 11pm...1 day gone..Luckily Jared could walk now..he self entertained by walking around in the airport..hehehe..



We practically change house/location every 2 days. First 2 nite in Sibu, followed by 2 nite at Kapit..and finally last 2 nite at daddy's house in Sarikei.

Jared behaved really well in the boat trip, slept thru..On flight, occasionally cried unconsolable while scratching his ears..Pretty scary..nothing helps.

But every meal time is a disaster, worst during the wedding dinner (It's the 1st wedding dinner we attended as a family).. For all the meal time, we had to take turn to carry him walk around so that he won't throw everything on table..

Jared also being the youngest in the family, lots of ppl offered to carry him throughout the trip. On and off he will lost from my sight. In fact we need to go around to search for him, once daddy found him on motorcycle ride by ku3 gong(grandma's bro)...and once to my horror, his whole mouth is stained with chococalate...till now, I'm still not sure who fed him the chocs. hehe.

Bon Voyage!!

We will be leaving for daddy's hometown Sarawak today afternoon..hope Jared will kwai kwai throughout the journey..and no flood in JB!! Cos we need to go JB to catch the flight.

First time Jared going back home to let all relatives watch him ..hehe..Unfortunately this morning he fell, and resulted a curry puff on his forehead and a scratch on his nose...

Happy 2007!

To mark the beginning of 2007, daddy took leave to spend whole day with us. (Daddy's off day is strictly Fri & Sat, all others, he had to work including CNY).
We did our favourite family activity again! Cycling at East Coast..hehehe.

I woke up early to prepare porridge for Jared’s lunch on new year day and off we go to East Coast. The day started with breakfast at the Irish Pub, Scurphy Murphy Café facing the east coast beach. We had been dining there since Jared was 3mth old. See the pics below, for a 3mth old Jared and 13mth old Jared..so much difference! Getting more & more handsome? hehe.

This round we cycled way beyond Bedok Jetty..reaching some yatch club towards the end of the park. In fact, we were rushing to meet the timing to return the bicycle. So we actually cycle close to 1.5hr, of cos in btw we stopped to let Jared have his lunch, while we had ice kacang hehe.

Then at nite, daddy arranged a couple only dinner at Hard Rock Café…We had the cheesy nachos for starter and combo bbq chicken+ribs. Promised ourselves never to order that nachos anymore..cos the portion is way too big that we could never finish it, even though that’s the 3rd time we had this dish, after Bali and Paris. Time to try another dish!

Overall, it’s a nice start for 2007! Hope 2007 is a better year for all of us!
