P3 Compo

This is Jared's 1st ever compo that got selected as model compo to be distributed to the class.

He is very strong in the good vocabs, but still weak to bring the content to climax..Then again, he did learnt a lot from TLL.  This compo he got 15/20. Good job Jared!

T2(C1)
“Hooray! We are going to the Sensory Park!” I exclaimed.
            After we reached the beautiful park, I ran to admire the orchids. The buzzing of bees and the smell of flowers relaxed me. The orchids were beautiful! However, I was not aware of the incident that would await me.
            Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a boy with a mischievous looking face. He cast furtive glances around. Then, he tugged at a unique and rare orchid. Sensing that something was amiss, I secretly watched him.
            To my horror, the boy plucked the orchid off its stem! He slipped it into his pocket and nonchalantly walked off. I was appalled by his behavior. I decided to inform the gardener who was watering the orchids nearby about the boy’s inappropriate act.

            The gardener marched up to the boy. He reprimanded him sternly and called his mother. They had to pay for the flower.  The boy looked at the floor remorsefully and vowed not to do that again. As I continued to admire the beautiful orchids, I was glad that the boy had learnt his lesson.

English paid $ for tuition, so write properly

Chinese no $ for tuition, write rubbish..

Haiz.

In sg, there's no more natural smart kid..the richer u are, the smarter the kid w expensive tuition n enrichment..

luckily jb not like that yet hor..

Even you paid $ for tuition, if the kid not smart enough also can't absorb what teacher taught.

I don't know how will I be later? I'm trying not to be a result-oriented mom. But now when I see ZK still can't really recognize 1-10, alphabets then I start worried liao coz I see other kids who younger than him can even write the words out already.

most kids are smart ...they just hv the ability to fit into the environment..n if they r given the chance, they will be high fly...thats my thought lar..

To me, if cant do well in lower pri, later on upper pri may even have more trouble..thats why I emphasize a lot ...

U read a lot to him, continue do it, before u knew it..he already know a lot.

As for writing, some are really slower like jared, i only realised he was the only 1 who cannot write ABC at 3.5yr (mid of nursery)...So we make sure he write every alphabet 1 page daily.

Lately I realised that ZK not only can't recognize but also unable to write. Hopefully he is just slower but not to have other problem ie dyslexia.

work on reading 1st. start w alphabets reading..

write can come later

I find him is really slow...repeating alphabet in a word he can be forgotten few seconds after I teach him. Eg "dad", i pronounced 1st "d" to him, but when pointed the 3rd alphabet "d", he can't pronounce it out.

Same goes to 1-10 teaching...repeat & repeat but he still can't remember. Am I too 操之过急?

hmmm, u should check with kindy teacher how are other kids in his class for comparison..

maybe he is a bit hyperactive...so cant sit still to listen?
