B321 Sembawang Close is a History now!

Today is the official day for transfer of ownership to the other party.

We have moved out on 28 Jan 2012, Sat. That day after the kids, enrichment lesson..we got home and do the final dismantling..and waited so long for the lorry to come.

When the lorry came, we were shocked to be informed that the stuff we had is definitely not enough for the storage we ordered..and we may need to double the space..This is also going to cost us 2x more..

They took so long to move up stuff to lorry..The kids both got hungry and I had to bring them for tea break at KFC..and we were back, they are still moving our stuffs!

After that, we went back to Whampoa for dinner..and around 9-10pm we went to the storage place at Penjuru..to found out that we actually rented a wooden crib to store our stuff!..Just have to pray that all our stuff we will be intact, no pest infections..etc for next  3 mth.

The storage at Penjuru....luckily managed to fit everything into 2 crib...total cost increase from 500+ to 700+ including mover . Putting this a side, we actually felt a good relieve to officially move out..

The Big Move

Come this sat (28-Jan), will be our big move out from Sembawang house.


This is the place we have spent the last 9yrs…building it from scratch..

With only 10k in my cpf, after working 1 yr, while daddy had 40k in cpf..and v.v. limited cash <20-30k..We bought the house at 305k.

This amount of $ is definitely not enough for a house nowadays..min is looking at 80-100k cash on hand, with the very high COV, and change in hdb regulation which needed 5% cash.

Has went through the 1st appointment for Whampoa house..now its really the 2 month more wait for the next appt…then the house will be ours!..Then onwards it will be 6 weeks of renovation..and finally we should be expecting moving in by 29Apr(daddy’s birthday)..gosh..half a year gone like that..

We went back Sembawang for more packing on Day 1 of CNY.

and had special breakfast that's the Mac D on CNY Day2..no price hike..heh

Hi tea again

It was the 1st appointment for HDB for BLK 114, as usual we didn't have enough time for proper lunch..and I rused to Musee for my IPL treatment and after that we had Hi Tea at TCC

Cheap and good quality.

The Hi tea set which is very worth while ...and CNY theme only cost about $16+

Panic and worry

This is the current status we are about Jared in his P1.

Haiz.

Everyday he would come home with many corrections. The very basic thing also he dunno.

1) Capital letters for ppl name, start of sentence

2) Fullstop at the end of sentence

3) Basic math addition story

4) Stellar handwriting.

He get very intruded when we start checking his bag..he scared we scold him for the corrections.

The worst came yesterday..it was just v.v. basic math addition story..and he said he couldn’t understand what the book wants..It sounded like I never coach him..but the fact is he already can do very advance work that required, 2 steps or multiplication and addition before come to final solution. And I simply cannot understand why he couldn’t understand the super basic work in the activity book.

In fact, I know the school work is so basic that we even have a math book which start from basic to start all over with him again.

Now I’ve decided to get an extra copy of math activities book to work with him everyday ahead of class. Also the same broad line for him to practice on English.

Then there was this stellar handwriting book. We took turn to spend with him writing all the alphabets a-z, A-Z. He came home with everything erased..and told us if more than 10 friends raised hand say its not good they have to re-do the handwriting.

This really make us could not swallow our dinner..hah. Daddy immediately wrote a long mail with his powerful English to teacher to ask why ask 6yr old kids to judge another 6yr old kid work..if want perfect writing, might as well ask them to type it out…and teacher also reply with his powerful English(for the 1st time, he used to reply with his broken,short reply)..and asked us to support his decision..hah.

Mum keep saying should have gone to hongwen as shaoqi is very happy..unlike Jared everyday come home so scared of us checking his work..

Kaylen’s Speech and Drama Enrichment

Years ago, I also enrolled Jared with TRBK’s speech and drama with Julia Gabriel..and he created a big hooha, till every teacher and bus driver know, he hate enrichment..We stopped him after the 2nd lesson..and wasted the $400..$300 for sch fee, $100 for sch bus.

Many years later, I still believed kids try some speech and drama lesson…and braved my heart to enrolled Kaylen with it. This time I’m smarter, got mum to pick her up.

Guess what? She was so happy with the lesson..mum said she couldn’t stop talking about the lesson all the way home…till on the bus. She didn’t have the bread we got for her, so went straight to MacD for her happy meal.

She told us bit and pieces..all I knew was she had to pretend scared, big bear’s coming etc..

I hope I’m able to afford more lesson for her next year..Mrs Lim, the admin of TRBK suggested the art lesson which is very inspiring..haiz $$..and the gal refused to let go ballet..even though nothing much learnt.

Jared P1 Week 2

Created a disaster as he pee in class..accident happened the weekend before, and he got a big punishment from daddy.  And now it happened in school again..haiz

This week he also learnt to spend $ on potato chips. He bought 2x in the week, $1 each..and shared with kids from the school bus.

With the recess time cutting  back to normal, he had problem finishing his food.  So far he only take the yellow soupy noodle and bee hoon..yet refused to pack any food to school.

He's coping much better and feeling less hungry and tired when reach home.

Hooked on Roald Dahl

We are at the 2nd book of the birthday pressie, George's Marvellous Medicine..it seemed more interesting than Mr. Twit. Started this book on 1st wk of school, but I did not let him bring it school for self read..as I find the words are much more chim.

So we read every weekday night for bedtime story.  Took only 2 weeks to finish this book.

Last night, it was so funny that he cry while reading, as he wanted to finish the book and yet it was already so late like 11pm+..and keep say cannot finish. hah.

Okay I prefered him reading books than play Iphone.

The Wallet

This is the very expensive wallet from Kuching, the spring mall..as I really had no time to shop for a wallet..i just went ahead and buy.., a souvenier from our home trip..hah

Birthday pressie from Ah yi for Jared's 6th birthday

Ah yi and yi zhang bought a set of Roald Dalh's  book for Jared's birthday. The 5 book set came with 2 free book..So we started with the thinner book The Twits..It was a wonderful, funny, simple, and so interesting..Started the book in end of Nov, and completed in 1st wk of Jan

Day 2 4 Jan 2012

I didn't take the school bus, but took the public bus to her school instead.  Reached there much earlier..and the school didn't allow us to join the assembly. So I left after they came down from the hall for breakfast at yakun heh.

Then coming to pick her at 9:30am with her fav bun from crystal jade. We rushed home to see Jared with the public bus.

Mum got her nike white shoes, from the china trip..cheap cheap.

Day 3 5 Jan 2012

Since I don't want to take anymore leave, we got ah yi's help to pick her up. Ah yi brought her to MacD for breakfast after that...She was so happy that she wanted ah yi to pick her everyday..hah.
