Jared’s 1st official test P1

He got a 25/25 for English..but we observed something very weird on paper, there was another tick on each question or cross with correction with pencil that was erased off..

Then after asked him, he said he also mark his own practice paper..so when he thought teacher said check the paper, he was supposed to mark it..and when teacher said, pls sleep if you are done..so when he was prepare to sleep, teacher already observed these on his paper.

So asked him to erase away..

So silly..hehe

He told that some friends like yuji instead of tick the answer, actually wrote the answer on space provided..and also answer some in capital letters.

So seemed like there are still so blur kids other than Jared..hehe

Updated 2-Apr

Panic and worry

This is the current status we are about Jared in his P1.

Haiz.

Everyday he would come home with many corrections. The very basic thing also he dunno.

1) Capital letters for ppl name, start of sentence

2) Fullstop at the end of sentence

3) Basic math addition story

4) Stellar handwriting.

He get very intruded when we start checking his bag..he scared we scold him for the corrections.

The worst came yesterday..it was just v.v. basic math addition story..and he said he couldn’t understand what the book wants..It sounded like I never coach him..but the fact is he already can do very advance work that required, 2 steps or multiplication and addition before come to final solution. And I simply cannot understand why he couldn’t understand the super basic work in the activity book.

In fact, I know the school work is so basic that we even have a math book which start from basic to start all over with him again.

Now I’ve decided to get an extra copy of math activities book to work with him everyday ahead of class. Also the same broad line for him to practice on English.

Then there was this stellar handwriting book. We took turn to spend with him writing all the alphabets a-z, A-Z. He came home with everything erased..and told us if more than 10 friends raised hand say its not good they have to re-do the handwriting.

This really make us could not swallow our dinner..hah. Daddy immediately wrote a long mail with his powerful English to teacher to ask why ask 6yr old kids to judge another 6yr old kid work..if want perfect writing, might as well ask them to type it out…and teacher also reply with his powerful English(for the 1st time, he used to reply with his broken, short reply)..and asked us to support his decision..hah.

Mum keep saying should have gone to hongwen as shaoqi is very happy..unlike Jared everyday come home so scared of us checking his work..

Mr Kok complimented Jared's work..but the work displayed should not be his work.

Jared's Primary 1 Week 1

After coming back from Kaylen's nursery, we prepared for Jared's school.

He had lunch at around 10am+..then go down at wait for school bus which was coming at 11:15am. He was the 1st to get on the bus. I was with him also.

There were only 5 kids and they are all Whampoa area, furthest at Jalan Rajah.

So he was the 1st to reach school at the at 11:30am, even before the lights were on.

Everything was the same as the orienatation day..except we had to leave at 2:30pm before the recess.

Day 1 (3 Jan 2012 Tues)
For Day 1, he asked for bread for his lunch box and I bought him hash brown from MacD. In the end, he only ate the hash brown during recess ..so he was famished when he reached home..and cried big big time..

So heartpain to see him like that..Ony after dinner, he felt better..

The school allowed us only Day 1 till 2:30pm..and but I was still  on leave on Day2 to bring Kaylen to school and fetch her back.

Day 2 (4 Jan 2012 Wed)

On Day 2, he had fried rice for lunch, and he also asked for it to be packed to school.  But mum used the spicy sausage..so I encouraged him not to eat it, incase it get too hot for him.

So I got him to promise me that he will buy food from canteen. So he had the same yellow noodle soup from oriental delight..

And since day 2 after buying food on his own, he asked not to pack his lunch anymore..I also find it better as it's fresher, and I don't need to worry if any sauce, or lunch box topple etc.  And it may be challenging to prepare different lunch box from his lunch...and best of all it can train up his dependency...

Day 3 (5 Jan 2012 Thur)

On day 3, he bought beehoon..but didn;t get to eat nuggets as it was out of stock. He told daddy he saw some fish cake shapped like a fish look very nice..So daddy encouraged him to order that the next day.

Day 4 (6-Jan 2012 Fri)
He told us when he reached school, the hall was in used, so someone asked him to go canteen or the library. But he could not find the library. So he went to the canteen. There, he saw ppl eating..so he went to order the bee hoon + fish cake..cost 80cents for lunch, but actually he just had a very full lunch at home!..

Then he went to pee, and after that he spent the time at the canteen reading the story book we packed.  Then someone came to ask him to go up to the hall..and he saw ppl already started talking..and he realised he forgot his school bag..and he came down to take his school bag again..finally he joined the class.

When it was recess time, he order the bee hoon again...So that day, he was left with 20cents. And he even took a wang wang in the school bus..That night, he wasn't that hungry anymore during dinner.

He was fine about it..but it really make us so worry about him...So we need to get him a watch immediately, so that at 12 noon he would go up to the hall..and don't get lost else where.

On day 1, we gave him $1 as pocket money, day 2 we up it to $1.50,..as a bowl of noodle cost around $1, so that he can save 50cent..but after the 2 lunch incident...we decided to give him $2...hah.

Its really a lot of $...cos I also spend only $2-$2.20 at office eating in the canteen..

PeiChun P1 Orientation 29-Dec 2011

It’s much anticipated..we arrived just a day before the orientation after spending a week back at hometown.

With everyone was away from home for the week.. we woke up with parents back from their China trip with all the gifts and food.

Changed Jared and we took a free ride from Weiming to school.

Arriving slightly early we can take the 2nd row seat. Jared was being asked to sit with the class ..He was assigned to 1D with Mr Winson Kok, looking very young and play guitars.

After a series of talk..we were allowed to join the kids at their classroom.

They were seated on the floor and working around a book with teacher asking question..

Jared was so busy with his nose..he probably wasn’t concentrating all the time..there few gals who raised the hand almost every single question..

He was not too bad…I think did answer about 2 question..

After that was canteen time, where parents are allowed to guide kids with buying food.
He chosed the oriental delights because of the fried rice..but they wasn’t selling, so vendor asked him if noodle is ok. He said ok..so paid the $1. And brought back the noodle to the 1D table.

Ordering and paying himself for the 1st time
Got him a new wallet a day before from Kuching's The spring mall ..which cost RM32.90 shinkashen..heart pain..and hopefully he don't lose the wallet..
Carrying his own food
Eating the noodles with friends
Noodles was hot, and scalded his lips few times..but he wasn’t complaining..(at hm, I would expect him to shout at me..stupid mummy, so hot how to eat..yes, he is very naughty and mean)
Then he finish the noodles and fishball and even meat balls..(again at hm, he would be spitting out the meat balls..as he absolutely hate process food & meat)

Finally he even finish the soup and attempted to tilt the bowl to try to dry the soup..hah. Daddy’s pv friend saw it, and commented, wahh got so nice meh?

I asked him why he can finish the noodle and meat ball even if normally he don't like it. He said, not nice also must eat..Didn't know he is much matured in school.
It’s a wonderful experience ..am so glad to watch him being so independent..and he definitely need to improve on his attention span and stop shaking and turning around.

We found a perfect pic spot ...its always asking him to stand on octopus..he look quite big size in the oversize uniform..hah..am so glad that he is average size kid now in the new school rather than the smallest during TRBK. hah.
