One month into P1 & P4 school year 2015

The gal got selected as monitor together with her partner Kayden. Cos their names sound alike...

So I asked her what did the monitor do?  She said take care of the class when there is no teachers..She go around and tell the children to take a story book and read.  When there's announcement on the PA system for monitors, they have to go PN collecting point.  They have to ask around  a few people to find the PN collecting point.

Almost everyday without fail I will ask this question to Jared, so, when can go back PeiChun?

The maths worksheet are harder..

The assignment big (social studies family chart), small (English flowchart, newspaper reflection, Book review) ..although all have reasonable deadline, but the feeling wasn't really good to need to constantly checking him out on the quality of work and plan out the milestones to meet weekly.

Everytime I will feedback, I can't tolerate this anymore..and He's reply is ...You just have to get use to it.

I'm so used to feed him with my work all the time to make sure he do enough exercise to have strong foundation..now the feeling really wasn't right not knowing what to expect in the test/exam​

I also did not use any mixed fruit now..i followed tableof2's recipe exactly ..but cut down the sugar further ~abt 10g.

Changed to an 8inch tin..it is taller now...N i have to cut it after put in fridge to get such nice shape..

My swim babies

All of the 3 of them Daddy, Jared, n Kaylen can all swim now..

Jared is not the competitive type..so he refused to join in the compete.

And everytime Kaylen can win daddy..she now swim as fast as me!

Daddy also acquired the skill of swimming by watching their coach teaching the kids..Our daddy is amazing, he has learnt skating, violin and now swimming by watching them..heh.

2015 Week 2 of school

Jared:
He was swarmed with homework after homework, that he would do till 10pm+ inclusive of violin. That left very little amount of time I have with him to do our own practice like Chinese compo or oral. Not even anytime to read story book or watch tv.  And the daily math worksheet are definitely harder and required thinking. For Chinese while I'm wondering why never touch workbook, and he was suddenly asked to do 12 pages. Also have a English journal about himself and 1st social studies assignment which we didnt have time to work on it at all.  N with tingxie and moxie..really not easy feat.

He still have learning lab homework to do, which he had drag it for the whole week.

Yet, he is still enjoying school.

Upcoming challenge, 1 CCA day for string and 1 Computer skill...2 days coming home late..




Kaylen:
She still been coming home late at 8.30pm. With the current focus on coming violin exam, she cant really have time for any other stuff.

And for me, I really found not as secured as before, for not able to guide both kids with extra work from me...


Jared with his tie...he preferred us to wear for him before he go to school as he wasn't sure how to do it by himself. Only need to weat tie once a week during assembly.

Her normal routine of school bus waiting..doing the abacus..She no longer attending the abacus lesson due to her sch crash with it ...now its on home study..

2015 First week of school

Day 1 2 Jan 2015 Fri

Jared: Smooth sailing with games and snack, happy to see Teck Yong

Kaylen: Confused when going home, causing whole school bus to wait for her, and in the end arrived home 7.50pm

Day 2 5 Jan 2015 Mon

Jared: CCA Screening for aesthetics (String, Chinese Orchestra, Modern Dance), still no class yet, He saw the CO gave him 4 star, seemed very interested in him

String asked him to bring violin to play a song for teacher the next Mon.

Kaylen: After multiple reminder, & extra test during weekend for route to school hall and school bus..she arrived home 7.05pm

Day 3 6 Jan 2015 Tue

Jared: CCA Sport Screening (Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Choir) –all fail, and he can’t be bother..

Kaylen: Longest and most challenged day for Kaylen with ballet class, Pei chun sch and learning lab make up class in line. So whole day started from 9am to all the way 9.15pm, terrible.

I had known the day since we missed the make up lesson in Dec..so had decided to go through the day hand in hand with her. I took the whole day leave, left home at 8am with her to Thomson Plaza, and bring her to MacD for brunch, followed by short time in library and PSG for her class from 12pm to 5.45pm..and bring her to united square for dinner and waited for class to finish then we took daddy’s car home together.

When I was almost so tired, she was still happily and excited about her day.

Day 4 7 Jan 2015 Wed

Jared: CCA Table tenis screening-can’t hit any ball, fail. Time table started running today. But still nothing much taught yet.

Kaylen: Bad jam on way home, so she reached at 7.30pm..terrible. And she had to go violin class, so finally she got back home at 9.30pm again!

Day 5 8 Jan 2015 Thurs

Jared:  Time table start running..Got back social studies 1^st family tree project

Kaylen: School bus was late, 11.30pm then come..and came home late again 7.30pm..was told this will be the new timing for her school bus

Day 6 9 Jan 2015 Fri

Jared:  1^st home work for Chinese.

Kaylen: Daddy picked her up after school! She was a happy gal

That marked the 1^st week in their school…it was happy 1 for both kids..no one want to stay with mummy home school. Jared is even not looking back at PCPS..

A Brand New School Year for Both Kids

Jared started his P4 GEP Journey @ Catholic High in the AM session

Kaylen started her P1 Journey @ Pei Chun Public in the PM session

Since both kids are with their new school, so 2nd of Jan, was really busy for me. I was at CHS for parents briefing, rushed home to watch Kaylen take her brunch, then sent her off to school bus..and finally rush to PCPS to do my PSG Volunteer work till 4pm.

First day for Jared was wonderful, 1hr recess, no school, only games and won some snacks , with P5 buddy..and with a bowl of fish ball noodle, he was a happy boy when got home at 2.45pm.

While Kaylen was the other way round, she had to take a 1hr school bus, and she got totally blur at going home time, and told teacher she doesn't know how to go hm..In the end, teacher brought her to the canteen, daddy rushed to school, and whole school bus waited for her for 20-30 mins..But daddy still decided to send her to take the school bus home. In the end, she reached at 7:52pm. However she did not cry at all, and was full of energy to tell all her stories from school.  Her queueing partner Kayden...so it made Kaylen and Kayden...

And this year, I also had a few whataspp group setup for both kids class...so can get more info better..






Just noticed, in general GEP kids were with glasses!




Recess time, I sneaked out from my duty class, and visited Kaylen at the canteen, as expected she did not go and buy food. She was having her emergency lunch box of wang wang..and I rushed her to buy food. She changed her mind on prata, and decided to just get a sunny side up...

Back in SG-Towards the end of Dec Holidays 2014

School holidays are so precious now..we don't need to wake up as early as 5.30am, and no traffic jam on the way to work, no homework, no exams...and so fast we are now at the last week of school holidays for 2014!

Since we were back in Sarikei for the xmas holidays, I suggested to visit Orchard road..instead Jared found so many excuses to go Ikea

He said he missed the hotdog buns, and he think we need to get a table lamp for our masterbed room...and he hated the fact that we have to take public bus to Orchard instead of driving..and nothing fanciful with Xmas lighting...so so many excuses when he is only 9 yr old.

Jared 's Dropped Tooth 5 & 6

@P3 Dec Holidays, 9 yr old
It's actually 2 tooth that grow together..so they dropped at the same time too. It had been wobbling for a while and Jared would put them back into the socket everytime they ran out of place, and that night while playing his violin, he had trouble putting the tooth back..so daddy thought it was time to get rid of it. And then he started crying complaining why he had to suffer twice pain in the same day..He just had chicken pox jab in AM and at night he had to get his tooth removed.

Learning to be independent

Since End of Nov, Kaylen had also started her English class at TLL..and we managed to get both on same time slot Sun 1pm class.  We gave Jared the responsibilities to bring Kaylen to her class and fetch  her after class, call daddy at the center and bring Kaylen to Level 3 carpark to wait for daddy's car.

Sarikei Home Trip [17-26 Dec 2014] Part 5

At Sugarbun to use the free wifi and tea break


Spending Xmas Eve dinner at Sugar bun..our first time after so many years, having a full meal there..usually we were too full to have anything at sugar bun even for supper. Both kids had such a sumptious meal which they rated as their best of the trip...fish and chip with raisin rice.


I of cos will pack a lot of sch work there...this make Jared really frustrated to disturb him with the difficult sums from Getmethinking math book..and this yr, their violin is getting so much bigger and 2 piece of violin as handcarry is really no joke....So I finally agreed not to bring ..so kids had a full week of break from violin.
